I purchased A Toshiba HDTV at Circuit City 2 days before they were closing the doors for good in the going out of usiness sale at a sizeable discount because everything needed to go within the last 2 days.

We brought the product home used the it for maybe a total of 20-14 hours of actual useage and the Lamp made a POP! noise and the picture went out.

So we called Toshiba and they confirmed based on LED Blink codes that it was a Lamp failure and said it is covered under warranty and I just needed to send them a copy of my receipt.

So we did just that.Then next day we received a call from Toshiba saying because of the purchase price it wasn't covered under warranty. So I told him the purchase price has absolutely nothing to do with the warranty as it is a contract between the Manufacture of the product and the Consumer. They still maintained they would not cover it based on purchase price.

Called Toshiba again today

called Toshiba again today after contacting the Att General here in MI and asked to speak to a customer service Supervisor
After givin him the facts of the case the story switched away from it being based on just the purchase price to being based on numerous things such as price indicates maybe it was ued or a store display maybe it was broken when i bought it yada yada yada. On top of that the Supervisor named Shaun was very very rood !

In any event they are still refusing to honor the warranty or help in any matter.

DO NOT BUY TOSHIBA PRODUCTS EVER!!!
They will look for any and every way to screw you possible and not honor the warranty.

So now I will be waiting with no TV until the Michigan Att General Consumer Products division can get some action out of them.

I advise anyone with any warranty trouble with this company to contact your states Att General office to file a complaint and they will get involved on your behalf.

Never again will I buy anything with Toshibas name on it which is sad because I have always told friends and family when they ask me what brand of Laptop I would get to go with Tohiba and have recomnded quite a few other products to friends and family members that were toshiba made,
Over a Lamp that more than likley doesn't cost them even $100 they will be losing business from numerous friends and faamily memebers for life.
