Toshiba SUCKS!


I brought a A505 in Dec 2009 by Feb 2010 (Less than 2 months later) it totally crapped out. They needed to replace the motherboard, a new riser and a new hard drive. They fixed it and proceeded to charge me 30.00 dollars to reinstall the OPS. ( They do not send recovery disk with any of their systems. In so doing, giving them the upper hand in a game of extortion over - no disc then you have a 800.00 paper weight - to bad!)
Bottom line....It still does not work.
They want to FIX it again!!
Their product is extremely subpar and customer service is terrible!
If you have stock in this company sell it now because at this rate they be going under soon.

"New data from SquareTrade (one of the bigger warranty providers) says Asus and Toshiba have the least hardware malfunctions over 3 years, while one-in-four HP laptops are projected to experience problems. Oh, and crappy netbooks are worst of all."

I'm sorry to see that you had problems but according to your report they repaired the laptop.

As for the recovery discs, most users simply make their own these days. In fact, Windows 7 should have prompted you to make recovery discs when you were setting up the system. Stores like Best Buy and some hardware makers will offer a recovery disc for $25-$30 but there is no reason to pay that when you can make your own with a couple of blank DVD-R discs.
