I placed an order online requesting my military document DD214 through a website that advertised their express service of 3-7 business days for $89. This website is Touchtone Research Group Inc. I placed an order on 7/18/08 needing it for a job that was due to commence on 7/22..throughout the whole time I never could get a straight answer of what was going on with my order while I was losing time I could have been earning an income.
I called on 7/29 inquiring about my order to be told it was a signature issue and the government rejected my request - my signature was the same as it was on all of my documents. 8/4 I decide that I have had enough and they have clearly charged me for a service they could not deliver, I e-mailed and requested a refund totaling $103.
I received a response stating my refund will be to me on Thursday 8/7. On 8/11 my fiance receives a package from them, lo and behold it is my documentation that at this point I no longer needed as I talked with my employer who agreed to hire me without verifying my military experience.
I e-mailed asking why I received the paperwork AFTER I requested my refund, to have their representative accuse me of being a liar and a criminal because I was trying to take advantage of their services AND get a refund. I have never gotten as much as a speeding ticket, served six years in the military honorably and to have someone call me a thief to my face, whom I paid good money for their incompetence outraged me.
They basically informed me that I would not be getting my money back because I had gotten the paperwork. I didn't NEED their services any longer thus why I cancelled my order after it was already very past due. He then tells me that he bet I downloaded the file off the site when it became available, only to come back and say that the logs proved I never did this. I have these e-mails saved, screenshots of their website promising the "express" services, my invoice showing how much they charged me and clearly didn't deliver.
So, not only did these people promise me a refund when I complained and told them I no longer wished to utilize their unprofessional services, they falsely advertised their services, and defamed me to my face.

I was a little skeptical of this company but I ordered their express service 2 days ago since I was in a hurry. I still have not received my DD214. They have not returned any of my emails or phone calls.

To all those veterans viewing the reports on this website, I applaud you for doing your homework. Everyone should do their homework before dealing with companies over the internet, as there many unscrupulous companies out there. But, I've worked Touchstone since the beginning, and I've known every single employee we've hired, and any employees that were previous military members are STILL working for us, because they see how much we can help veterans acquire their records quickly when they need them most. His statement is false, period, which leads me to believe that this isn't the only of the complaints here are "bogus" complaints.
We are the leading expediter in the military records business, and we've earned that position through hard work serving our clients efficiently and effectively. There are other companies that cannot compete so they resort to shady, defamatory acts in trying to injure our business. I used to work for the Touchtone Research Group and was appauled by their shady business practices. Almost every one of the services that they offer are things that you can get for free. For example, their request for a DD-214 is something that you can request yourself free of charge at www.archives.gov. Men and women serve their country honorably and then have to come home and be scammed by these scum. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

I just used the services of Touchstone to track down some DD214's that I need for a job. I know most people only have one dd214 but I have multiples due to me being recalled to active duty multiple times. Touchstone was able to get me copies of most of my DD214's via email pretty quickly. I orderded them Friday and have them today, Monday. One thing that I did find out after the fact however, is that you can now obtain electronic copies of your military documents fast and free by going to: https://www.ebenefits.va.gov/ebenefits-portal/ebenefits.portal
This website is a VA, DOD collaboration site that will give you access to your military documents, to include your DD214, fast. While Touchstone did deliver on their promises to me, there is definitely a better way to get your records without paying $100 like I did.

We get almost all records in 2-4 days, not 204 days. We can get many records same day, almost all within a week. It all depends on where your record is located.

Our clients says it all. We get most records within 204 days on average, almost all within one week. But, on occasion, there are problems with individual requests. Each record request is unique and, unfortunately, we are not "allowed behind the counter" at Federal records repositories. In brief, this client required his DD214 for a job. He placed his order with us, advising his employer that he had done so. This was - so he informed bus - sufficient to acquire his position. He got the benefit he wanted, his job and his record. And now he wants us to gove him those benefits for free. I don't think so.
