Toytoa Camry, Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Toyota Scion Of Lake Norman, Huntersville NC Toyota Camry Sunroof Repair Ripoff by Manufacture and Toyota Dealer, Known Issue Torrance California

I'm writing this Ripoff Report due to my Toyota Camry I've been having problems with. First thing I have a Toyota Camry SE that came with a sunroof an employee stated Toyota has been having problems with which Toyota trying to keep quiet. My sunroof I use average since I've own the vehicle since brand new. I do drive a lot, however, one day I tilted my sunroof open and it wouldn't close back AN A little small plastic piece about a quarter of an inch in size came from the sunroof and my sunroof wouldn't close.

Now, most vehicles with sunroofs have a small plastic entry to the sunroof so you can manually crank close your sunroof, but Toyota don't provide this option, Interesting. I've been riding around with my Sunroof open tilted up hoping not to get caught in any rain storms, for many months now, but decided to finally take time out to stop at Toyota Scion of Lake Norman located in Huntersville, NC, then called Toyota Motor Sales USA in Torrence, CA and spoke with a supervisor by the name of Enrique Orozco.

My response on this issue from Toyota Scion of Lake Norman was that they would charge me $59.00 to diagnose the sunroof to see what the problem WAS, well when they so called did this, they came back and stated it would cost $700.00 to just close the sunroof from being tilted up, and $2200.00 to replace it. After hearing THIS fiqure which was mind blowing I called the manufacture.

The first thing they told me was I was out of warranty (3-years, 36,000 Miles) and if they would consider doing something, I would have needed to be servicing my vehicle at a Toyota dealership since I've owned my Vehicle, remember, we are talking about a defective Sunroof, not a drive train issue.

After over hearing a employee at the Toyota dealership speak on the Sunroof issue, they stated this is a known on going problem with my sunroof. If you do a Google Search for Toyota Sunroof Repair, you will get Toyota Scion of Lake Norman in Huntersville, NC because they specialize in this issue and making much money on the repairs of it.

So, this all balls down to Toyota knowing this is a major problem and the consumer like myself is getting stuck with this costly repair. You choose what vehicle you should purchase?
