They sold me a used car where the transmittion didn't work properly, the clutch was grinding on metal, and the car never had a tune up. They sold me a lemon. I've had the car taken back to the shop a total of seven times and the car is still not fixed. I lost one job because of this car and on the verge of losing another.
One of their representative by the name of Bobby Rameriz harrassed me when I came back with the rental. They tried to take the rental back when they still had my car in the shop. I refused and he said he would make sure I got arrested for grand theft auto and was banging on the car as I was driving away.
If you are thinking about buying a car from them, PLEASE PLEASE think again . These people do not value their customers. They don't abide by their contracts and think they can get away from anything.
When I was there, I saw a really old guy there who just bought a BRAND NEW CAMARY, he was nearly in tears!!!!! He told me he had this BRAND NEW CAMARY taken back for some gas reasons 5 times and they still haven't fixed it!!!!
I know for a fact that Toyota of Garden Grove is not only f***ing me over but they have done it to someone else too. Please don't make the same mistake as I did. Save your money and go somewhere else. They won't value your time, your money, or your business. It's better to ride a bike/skateboard/skate/bus rather than deal with these boneheads.

Thanks for all the helpful hints and incouragements, but unfortunatley, this past Friday morning, piece of the car, under the hood, fell off. I was trying to pull over but smoke started to rise and it smelled like burning so I had to stop in the middle of the freeway. As I was stopping a car side swiped me!!! I didnt havce my cell phone so I had to pull the piece out and drive home!
I am not too badly hurt but i do have bruises, my neck and back have some pain, but my ankle hurts the most. I am so lost about what to do next with this car! if there is ANYONE out there that can help me, please let me know. I would really appreciate it!!! thanks! much love to everyone and hope no one goes through this!! BE WARNED!!!

Dear Brian, It looks like we are on to something! You said that you live in a SMALL TOWN. I am sure that there are probably FAMILY VALUES. And I will bet that most people are NOT BURIED IN DEBT. And this makes people's lives LESS STRESSFUL allowing them to BE HAPPY. And these people in this small town will RESPECT others and TREAT others as they would want to be treated.
There probably aren't too many TRAFFIC JAMS and I doubt that most people are driving around with a CELL PHONE glued to their ear. I will bet that most people do not have a house that they CANNOT AFFORD. I will also bet that most are not BURIED IN CREDIT CARD DEBT. It also sounds like there are people who believe in the TRUTH in your town.
Your town, sounds like a very, very, very, fine town! Do you have two cats in your yard? Life doesn't seem to be so hard. Now everything is easy, because of you. taking a car to your mechanic

i have been a salesman at a small ford dealership in the midwest for 8 years. we routinely let customers take a used car or truck to a third party mechanic to be checked out, we sometimes even suggest it. beleive me, if there is trouble with a car, we want to know about it pre-purchase, not afterward. admittedly, we are not a big-city mega-store, but i doubt they would refuse such a request.

Sara sorry to hear your story and Thomas does have some good advice about having a used car checked otu by a mechanic you trust. The only problem with his advice is that I would like to know of a car dealer that will let you take a car they have for sale to a mechanic that I trust. most dealers will tell you that they have had their mechanic check over the car and have certified by someone in their employment. how can you get an honest opinion of the car from someone they pay.
Maybe Thomas could go to his so called super dealership and see if they will let him take a used car off there lot and to a mechanic not employed or contracted by his dealership. I suggest that he try it himself and see what happens before spewing his know it all advice around.
well thomas here is another challenge to you on another post. we are all still waiting for you to disprove Charlenes facts on another post and we still want to know how much is toyota paying you to try and discredit so many different people from so many parts of the country. we can't all live in south carolina were the apparently only so called honest toyota dealer is and i suspect that you own that dealer or are related in some way......

and how you can generally raise a big hoo-ha. Except Karl seems more focussed on Toyota rather than the boneheads (your term) in your local used & abused car department.
But you did buy a used car. why did you buy THAT used car? And from such friendly boneheads ? Well, at least it "SOUNDS LIKE" your boneheads may be trying to fix your car. The previous owner probably dumped it because he/she could no longer defer the accumulated deferred maintenance. Clutches do wear out, just like brakes if not sooner, because most people have no real clue how to use the clutch in a "stick shift" tranny.
And why didn't you have your regular repair shop check it out before you bought it? You do have a shop you regularly patronize, right? If not, check The Mechanics Files on cartalk.com and see who you can find acceptably close to your ZIP code. And next time, consider an automatic tranny- but have someone you trust check it out for you before you buy it.
