Toyota of El Cajon confirmed, in writing, lease terms on a new 2014.5 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE. They also provided written confirmation of the trade-in value for our car, which is a 2014 Lexus. We accepted and agreed to their written offer. However, when we wanted to take delivery of the new vehicle, they suddenly found damage to the new car that we selected. Next, they said that they would have a replacement vehicle, although in a different color. I am not sure if they even had the right car when they made these representations. At any rate, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and agreed to accept a different color vehicle.

On the following day, when we were all set to take delivery of the new vehicle, they called to say that the finance manager had his day off and that we needed to wait until he returned to the office. Pretext after that was “WE ARE NOT A TOYOTA FINANCIAL’S PARTNER OF CHOICE DEALER, THEREFORE WE COULD NOT GET THE LEASE PAYMENT WE PROMISED IN WRITING”. Evidently, they don’t enjoy a “Choice dealer” relationship with Toyota Financial.

Subsequently, the bait and switch tactic surfaced as they demanded higher monthly payment.  After we complaint vigorously against the higher payment, they said that the General Sales Manager’s (GSM) would address our complaint. However, it was GSM turn to take a day off and that we needed to wait until the GSM returned from his day off.  These excuses progressively got worse to a point that it began to sound more like a kindergartener asserting that “my dog ate my homework.” After they ran out of silly excuses, they ultimately refused to honor their own agreement.  I concluded, from this experience, that this dealership has no integrity to honor a written agreement. It is my opinion that this dealership never intended to honor the original written deal. So, buyers be aware of these tactics and exercise extreme caution when dealing with this ethically challenged car dealer.

Toyota of El Cajon is a trustworthy car dealership.

This is a follow-up to my previously post.

Questions: What makes a business great?

Answer: It is the ability to rectify a mistake and going the extra mile to accomplish this goal.  It is the fortitude and culture of a business to defend its good reputation by providing exemplary service to its customers. This is why I feel Toyota of El Cajon is a great business. They turned an unhappy customer into a loyal customer for life. For a car dealership, it is truly an extraordinary feat and high standard of ethics.

Initially, Toyota of El Cajon made certain statement regarding payment. However, due to low credit score, Toyota Finance charged a higher interest thereby causing the agreed upon payment to go up. Once, the owner of this family owned dealership, Gary Kaminsky became aware of this issue, he immediately took action.

Gary, in fact, used his influence and persistence to get Toyota Finance to reverse their decision regarding the rate tier. Gary’s staff and managers work relentlessly with Toyota to resolve this issue. Sales manager, Paul Sphabixay, went above and beyond the call of duty to tenaciously remain involved until the matter was fully resolved. Ross, the sales person was a perfect gentleman and acted as such throughout the transaction.

In the end, I was pleasantly surprised by the dealer’s steadfastness in making this car buying experience a perfect transaction. I would recommend this family owned dealership to my friends and family for a straightforward car buying experience. Off course, I shall return to this dealership whenever I need a new car.

There are a lot of complaints in the auto industry about dealerships and companies that provide services to customers who own cars and trucks And we must not forget about the various companies that sell data regarding vehicle identification numbers and the history of cars. For consumers to get information there is no guarantee that they might be getting the real truthful information about the cars past history.

We all know that a lot of major rental car Companies don't want the cars that they own identified or labeled as rental cars, If the car is labeled as a rental car in the history reports as previously owned by rental cars it lowers the value when the rental car company tries to sell them off/UNLOAD THEM

I feel people need to start a movement posting your vehicle identification number where ever you complain about the issues you're having with your car or the dealer you bought it from.  We need to start a movement of free movement where people can do research on the history of a vehicle at no cost.

I at this time am encouraging everybody when you post a story about a car that you rented or you post a story about a car that was involved in an accident that hit your car. If you get a copy of the insurance card of the person that hit you you have that Vehicle Identification number of the car that hit you. If you post a report/complaint about the insurance company that should be fixing your car, list the VIN NUMBER of the car that hit you

Google this VIN  look what pops up on the first page

Now, GOOGLE this Vehicle identification number

I tell people if you're going to post a complaint about the vehicle whether it be a car truck RV and you complaining about the troubles you're having with the dealership fixing the car list your vehicle identification number in your complaint.

If you are  having trouble with a rental car company save copies of the documentation like the rental agreement contract and post the vehicle identification number in your complaint on the internet, that way people know if they ever google that vehicle identification number more than likely your complaint will pop up Closer to the top of the first page of a Google search.

Remember a vehicle identification number is like Automotive DNA. Let's start a movement post the vehicle identification number  where ever you file a complaint. Next thing you know, we all can get free history reports.

THINK GOOGLE THE VIN.....
