I had a terrible experience with salesman George Mogollon at Pat Lobb Toyota of Mckinney.  I went to look at purchasing a car there and found a used Merecedes on the lot.  The salesman, George Mogollon, seemed like a nice person and showed me a binder that had written paises about him from previous customers.

George Mogollon told me that the car was in execellent condition and thatToyota of Mckinney puts every car through a rigorous  16 point inspection before it is put on the lot.  I asked George if he would mind if I took the car to a mechanic to have it  checked out.  He acted like he did not want me to and said that I didnt really need to waste money on having it checked out since they already did that.

I went ahead and took it to an authorized Mercedes mechanic. He put the car on a lift and showed me it had a terrible oil leak and that it could cost thousands to get it repaired but he said it looked bad.  He said he would not know the extent of the repairs until he got further into the engine.

He also found that the car had probably been wrecked.  He had a meter that measured the paint thickness. It showed that the whole front left side had been repainted-probably to due to a major accident; he of course advised me against buying this car.  He said that a reputable dealer would not have put this car on their lot.

I took the car back to Toyota of Mckinney and told George Mogollon what the mechanic had said. He acted like he was mad that I had taken it to a mechanic and suddenly his personality changed from Mr. Nice Guy and he became very belligerant, which I am sure was due to the fact that he lost a sale he thought he had.

He started arguing with me and said the car was in excellent condition.  I showed him the receipt from the mechanic and the problems with the car that were found, which were written out.  He kept arguing with me and then basically told me to leave, which I did in a hurry.

I would advise everyone to stay away from Toyota of Mckinney as George Mogollon is not to be trusted and I really doubt all those written praises were from real customers.

False report

AUTHOR: George - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 22, 2013

The gentleman that filed the report did visit our dealership in mid 2010 wanting to test drive a Mercedes C class ( this report was posted in August 2012).  He visited the store on two occasions just to test drive the car (needed to get information for his girlfriends opinion) on the third visit he asked to take the car to his personal mechanic.  He took the car early in the morning and called later that afternoon and stated that he wouldn't be able to return the car until the next day due to business reasons.  Late the following day and after many many calls the gentleman did return the car in a very un professional manner (he left the car in the back of the dealership with the key in the ignition, I just happen to see the car in the back) Not once was a mechanic inpection shown to me to review.  Did he take the car to a mechanic or did he go joy ridding in it?  In the 20 years of selling cars I have never been treated in such a manner nor have I ever had a negative review posted.  Out of 100 plus positive reviews posted on my behalf this is the only negative review.  Unfortunately this gentleman is very mean spirited calling me on numerus instances just to poke at me telling me how he posted a review and how I needed to look at it not to mention the racial remarks made on every call.  The remarks are recorded and are very ugly.

Please if you read this report I ask that you read the other 100++ plus reviews that will give you a clear picture on how I treat my customers and please do not accept one mean spirited individuals comments as the truth or the norm.

Thank you

Thank you: George Mogollon

You could have taken a picture of the oil leak and then uploaded the picture at your Ripoff Report in order to reinforce the fact that the Mercedes had issues.

Uploading a copy of the receipt from the mechanic, who did the inspection, would be another way to show all of the readers that the salesman and the Toyota dealership shouldn't be trusted. Feel free to spread your Ripoff Report all over the web at sites like Twitter and Facebook, so others are aware of this Toyota dealership.

Anyone who is interested in buying a used vehicle from a car dealership, or even a private owner, should always have it checked out by an independent mechanic. You were smart. Most people will believe what they are told, and then they suffer the consequences.

***NATIONWIDE ALERT: Make sure to stay at this site and type in- BANK, and read all of the Ripoff Reports for important information if you live in the USA and spread it all over the web at sites like Twitter and Facebook.

Good job

This report is a good example of how to do it folks.

Get it checked out by an independent mechanic whether the dealer likes it or not.  If they won't let you - Walk out.

If it turns out to have problems they didn't tell you about - walk out.

If they start disrespecting you - walk out

Let them rant all they want.  There are plenty of cars out there.

Good job!
