Toyota of Temecula Joshua Dehtan, Sales Registration Ripoff Temecula, California

We bought a new '12 Prius on 7/1/12 near our former home area of Temecula CA with the explicit instruction to license the vehicle in our new home state of Arizona. We gave their finance manager, Jun Nagaoka, explicit information about our move from CA to AZ and asked him to arrange registration and tax there, to which he agreed but didn't have the form. 

The Prius was delivered to us with an 'interim' contract that indicated our address as our location in nearby Wildomar CA where we no longer lived as we had moved to our new home in AZ. And since mail is not delivered to a secure location, we asked for time to rent a PO box there and send all correspondence there.

We'd promised to bring an additional $10,000 in but returned much sooner, the following Saturday to do that and to furnish Mr Nagaoka with our new AZ address to base everything upon including all fees revised for AZ, but we didn't notice he'd failed and refused to do that and printed the new contract with the same Wildomar CA address. We think he knew what he was doing but didn't want to share it with us.

We learned the hard way that our rocky dirt road was no place for a Prius but got no cooperation from the Temecula dealership, and it required a large number of discussions with many there to arrange the nullification of all the extra 'coverages' we'd purchased with the car. We had to make many calls and arrangements for refunds we finally began to receive after a month, but none of them were for the CA registration fees they'd wrongfully paid and charged against our funds. I was unable to get a return call from Mr Nagaoka about these fees until his manager finally insisted he call, whereupon he said he'd "look into it and get back to us" which never happened.

I offer that this is a car agency that fully lives up to the dark reputation of car dealers who don't know you after the sale and get about everything wrong, then deny it. We lived up to the letter of our agreements while they haven't lived up to one.

We demand a full refund of all California DMV payments paid by this dealership under the full realization this would not be a California car. Another manager (I've dealt with so many people there now it's hard to remember), John Sideris, told me today we could have been issued an out of state registration form that would have made all this easy. Instead, we were lied to and this dealer never had any intention of making any effort to assist us in the proper registration of this car in Arizona where we own our home and have been living since before this fiasco began. Please help us bring this unethical, irresponsible car dealer to justice that I am bound to seek until my last breath, if necessary. And please expedite our request for assistance.
