Radio shack is worthless place to buy a prepaid from-these idiot-morons (Iam talking about store mngr and employees) spew dis-information about the prepaid phones they sell (at least in the store I bought from). Might as well go to wal mart.

Any cel phone co. who say's it's acceptable to have to walk outdoors to use phone is nuts and doomed to failure.
Advice: Never buy a gsm phone.
Add to it tracfone 800-867-7183 will give a friendly-different lie on each phone call.

If spending hours calling India over some worthless POS little cheap a*s phone sounds appealing to you..... get a tracfone gsm (double minutes).

AUTHOR: Mmm1979 - (U.S.A.)

With all do respect you cannot blame RadioShack for your problem's. When it comes to cell phones as well as any electronic now a days, "You get whatyou pay for."

I worked for RadioShack for many years and delt with many issues such as yours. I understand your frustration but a GSM phone needs to run onthe GSM network. If there are not many cell phone towers in the area where you where using the phone that could be your problem.

Check out the web site http://www.wireless.att.com/coverageviewer/ to see if you have coverage in your area. The new GSM trackphones run off the AT&T network. You can still get trackphones that run on Verizon's network, they don't use a sim card. You can check the coverage map at http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/CoverageLocatorController?requesttype=NEWREQUEST to see if that has better coverage.

Both phones should be available for purchase still at RadioShack. Verizon and AT&T don't won't people to know that these phone run on their networks because they both have thier own pre-paid phones at much hire prices.
