Your grievance is with the seller: not Tradebit
AUTHOR: Steve Tradebit - (Germany)
SUBMITTED: Friday, March 08, 2013
POSTED: Friday, March 08, 2013Firstly, Tradebit is an open platform that has 30,000 active sellers, or 'merchants'. We cannot police them all with regard to the descriptions of the products they sell (our efforts are focused on controlling fraud and piracy). The 'false advertizing' you report is not something Tradebit did or is responsible for, but rather sounds to me like an honest mistake on the part of the merchant. It is easily done when writing detailed product descriptions, and can happen on any open marketplace.
I've bought things on eBay before that didn't match the description: I did NOT post on the internet afterward that eBay was guilty of false advertising. That would be ridiculous, and I would be (rightly) sued for libel. In each case I contacted the seller directly to resolve my dispute, which is what the process is with Tradebit, too.
Secondly, every file on Tradebit clearly states the format it is delivered in, whether it is a PDF, MP3, video file, image or anything else. There are many free PDF readers available on the internet and unless you are using an operating system that is 15 years out of date, then it is capable of opening a ZIP file with a simple double click. This does not sound like a valid complaint but a lack of technical know-how on your part about file formats. There's nothing wrong with that, but you cannot accuse others of deception as a result of it.
Finally, there is no way that anyone at Tradebit would ever override your review rating for a manual. Wouldn't happen, end of story. We're all too busy with real work. Again, you must be mistaken.
I do not know the details of this particular transaction, but I would be more than happy to abitrate between yourself and the merchant in question if you send me your Paypal email address and a link to the file in question to my email address steve(at)tradebit(dot)com.
Normally in the event of a problem with a specific file, Tradebit support refers you to the original merchant - there are millions of files on the platform, so the seller is of course the expert - however, I will do my best to help resolve the situation for you if you send me your details.
In the meantime I think you should remove this report because it is not only damaging to a legitimate business with thousands of happy buyers and sellers, it is also libellous.
