This is really difficult to do, since I love Trader Joes so much. But when it comes to their "Gourmet Jelly Beans", I feel this posting is warranted.
Trader Joes carries Jelly Belly jelly beans and their own brand. Yesterday, I tried their brand. Some examples of the flavors are Strawberry Smoothie, Lemon, Grape,Cherry and Pink Grapefruit. Unfortunately, they all tasted like toluene.
My guess is these are the Jelly Belly rejects that are packaged exclusively for Trader Joes so there is no competition.
Please, if jelly beans is what you crave at TJs, stick with the real thing: Jelly Belly.
