Do not give your credit card number or they will sign you up for a credit reporting service and not give a refund. I purchased my credit score and found out I was in a monthly scam to get $14.95 a month.

You could go to annualcreditreport.com which allows you to pull your credit report from 3 sources (including Trans Union) for free, but you can do it only once a year. You could do it all at once, or pull one from each source every 4 months. When you select to go to any of the source, the site will ask you for your personal info (name & ssn), and then redirect you to the source website. Then on the source website, it will ask you again with multiple choice questions to verify your identity. Those questions will ask for personal info in your past which should be easy for you to answer if you do not have amnesia or you are the person.

Why did you "purchase" anything that was claimed to be free?

..and worse yet give any credit card or bank account info. In the screen shot below look what it says right on top. If you did not read this all you saw was the "free" part for the credit score, but not the part where you were also enrolling into their credit monotoring system which is only free for 7 days unless you cancel before then.

You have to be so careful online with anything that is claimed to be free. The first red flag is if they ask for any credit card or bank account info. Hope your report helps others to be more careful so they don't get stuck with charges. It is not a rip off in the sense to you missed what you were paying for and gave account info willingly and voluntarily. However I will say they are hoping you fall for it and did not read what you are buying , which many do sad to say.

The other option was to take the free credit report, then simply cancel the credit monitoring right after. That is what I did and got the free report and no unexpected charges from them. Not to say I am smarter then you, I just learned the hard way to be very savvy on the internet.
