My contact was for $8,000,00 plus my airfare which was $682.00. Halfway through the tour, everything at corporate was getting screwed up as usual, people, including holly, were fired, and the tour was cancelled.
After the tour was cancelled, they tried to buy out everyone's contract for a ridiculously low amount. To make a long story short, they paid every other artist on the tour (50% of their contract) except for me. To this day they still haven't paid me. I hired lawyers to try to get my money and got no response. Now they are bankrupt and I will never see a penny of my money.

As far as ex-employees you have no right to complain. You are just as much a sucker for buying into the sales pitch as the people that you "scout" or "scouted". I too am an ex-employee of the "network" but the only person I have to blame for my greedy nature is myself.
There is always a catch to a sales pitch when you can walk in and someone tells you that you can make tons of money for doing something that you have never done before and where you can be trained in a weeks time. If you look at the top scouts for world-class modeling agencies, they have been in the business for years, most of who started as models themselves. Moreover, don't cry about someone destroying your holidays because of complains filed against a company that suckered you in too. Even in car sales you make more then 10% of the sale. Labor is cheap with the economy is slow, and that I can honestly tell you is this type of companies strong point. Promise of a lot of money for potentially little work. Sounds like the same thing the scouts use as a sales pitch, what do you think?
In closing, I simpathize with the make-up artist who hasn't collected his/her contractually earned money. They still owe me close to that amount for photographs taken out of the West Palm Beach, FL office. And for the scout that lost their job, if this is the best you can do, then you are truely the lazy one, and WSM/TCT or who ever they are now, was in the right to let you go. Real money comes from real hard work not assuming that you can make a lot for a little. The only winners in all of this is the Scouting Network.
