I started my own business and needed a credit card machine. I was contacted by Transnational Bankcard (ph 847-655-1300)and told about some different products they offered. I got a regular terminal for my store and one that I could take to clients homes. The first type of transportable terminal did not work in my area. The second type of terminal (called the Nurit 8000) worked one time and then never again. We called and downloaded the machine over and over and were sent new parts and a new SIm card to try but it still would not work after 8 months of calling and getting the run around from TNB. Thats 8 months x $67.55 plus processing fees.

Then I get in contact with Troy with TNB, who first asked why had we not called earlier, to which I expained we have been calling customer service and getting no where.( I do have a busness to run too) He wanted us to call again and try downloading again. Of course it did not work.SURPRISE! We gave Troy a list of names of different customer service reps we had spoken to over the last 8 months and he replied that some of those people are not very smart (OK! so why did I have to call the not so clever people again at your request?)Then Troy asked why we did not have a service and warrany contract. I had no idea what he was talking about and he made it sound as if I should know. I told him I am not a psychic and I don't know all their policys. Troy faxed me a contract for a warranty club with an anual fee of $75 and a monthly fee of $9.75. He said if I don't sign it they won't send me a new machine. (EXCUSE ME!! That is not legal). I verbally agreed over the phone but when I acually read it I got pissed off even more. The warranty contract states " TNB is not responsible for loss, damage or delays.. The risk of loss remains with Merchant at all times..." SAY WHAT? The warany doesn't warrany anything. Why would I sign that.

Now Troy sent out another machine before I faxed back the warranty. He said he would be in trouble for not having the warranty contractand That I would be liable for both machines valued $2500 each. Troy threatened having my bank account deducted for $5000.I sent both machines back.

I was so mad about paying for a product that didn't work I called Lease Finance Group (ph 866-781-0440, fax 888-271-7467) and complained and they said that is not there problem and to call TNB. TNB said they are "not responsible for wireless network coverage". So I'm stuck paying for a product that does not work now and will probalbly never work in my area. I had my bank stop the draft on my account which is collected by LFG.

I contacted the Better Busness Beaureau and complained which lead no where. I also had a lawyer look at it. Now since the lease company is separate from the bankcard company I am basically screwed and have to pay for a wireless card terminal that I do not have and does not work.

I definately do not recomend TNB or LFG. I recomend using a local bank in your city for credit card terminals even if it cost more. They are more likely to give a %$#@ about you. I have small business to run and I am wasting money every month on this lease. So $800 is not alot of money now but after my 4 yr lease is up I will have paid close to $4000 for the emperors new clothes.

Maybe the lesson here is...

AUTHOR: Chantillian - (U.S.A.)

Going back to the original report where we read, "I was contacted by Transnational Bankcard...", maybe the lesson here is to shop around for such companies and check out what they offer (including warranties) rather than just signing up with the one who has the telemarketing campaign that reaches you first.

(Today, I was contacted from 312-237-3230 which I gather from googling is Transnational Bank Card - I could be wrong - which in turn lead me to this ripoff report. I swear, this is at least the 20th time that a credit card machine company has contacted us since we got our new number less than a month ago. I signed up to the government's do-no-call list right away. I guess it needs time to propagate out to all those who use it.)

AUTHOR: Wanda - (U.S.A.)

I too was rip off by LFG and I filed my on report and what she says is true and they Intimidate you and go behind your back and change $ amounts and continue to draft money from your account and the company lies about there service and as a consumer we have no rights so I live in Alabama and my attorney said we have no rights to sue because of the laws in Alabama about contracts so the way I see it you need stay local with your local banks don't even talk to anyone who says they can save you money if there not local !!!

The Car Analogy

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

They are trained to use that stupid car lease analogy. THEY ALL USE IT, even though it is completely unequivicable. I wonder if they realize how stupid it sounds. Get a real job people. produce something.

#5 Consumer Suggestion

There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to ever lease this equipment!

AUTHOR: Steve [Not A Lawyer] - (U.S.A.)

This is the biggest scam going aimed at small business. You pay at least 10x what the equipment is worth, and you NEVER own it! Then the cycle starts all over again! What a scam!

The average unit sells for less than $500. You can get them as low as $300.

NEVER sign a lease for credit card processing equipment. You can buy this stuff outright for a few hundred bucks. AND, any merchant service that requires you to lease equipment is ripping you off and should be avoided.

As far as mobile machines, they are simply not worth the cost. A manual imprinter is fine and you simply call in for the authorization. It takes like 2 minutes. Much cheaper and less headache.

Unless you have a high dollar volume business, you were losing money with this service.

Merchant accounts are very easy to get and you should shop around.

I didn't just fall off the back of a turnip truck!

AUTHOR: Patricia - (U.S.A.)

Yes, I told troy I would sign there warranty over the phone UNTIL I READ IT. The reason I didn't try the new terminal is because Troy left a threatening message on my cell phone that he would have my account debited for FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS and that because I had not signed the additional contract($9.75 month and don't forget $75 annually) they would not warranty either terminal. So if I open this new terminal it it also does not work than I am up &%$# creek without a paddle. I do not doubt that the terminal works in Chicago but it does not work here in Mississippi. Again, I did not like being backed into a corner or threatened so I would rather not be in possession of the terminals.

As to the lovely analogy about the car. If you bought a NEW car and drove it off the lot only to brake down a block later your car would be under warranty. They could not force you to pay for an additional warranty after the vehicle broke down and say well with out this additional warranty we won't fix your car.

For annalogy about the cell phone. If you were told you would have coverage while in your bedroom but you don't, then yes you should call up your cell company (if you can get a signal!!)and have some words because they LIED to you about the product coverage.

As for Lease Finance Group (they have quite their own REPUTATION on this web site) Troy is mistaken,my Lawyer has spoken with them and we have an understanding that I have been screwed by TNB with a non working terminal and must pay for it even if I don't have one and it never works. So there is no "JUDGMENT" They are getting payed for now. I do however feel a letter to the Illinois Attorney General brewing.

If my language became unsavory after the threats and additional fees, I can only say that I wasn't going to bend just bend over and let TNB stick it to me anymore. I may be a woman from the south, but I din't just fall off the back of a turnip truck!

So what Troy is saying is that I should just do whatever he says, sign whatever sends, and pay whatever it cost. I say NO! I will call whoever will listen and write to whoever will help. I hope others will be informed BEFORE they get in a similar "NON_CANCELABLE contract"

#7 REBUTTAL Individual responds

good faith service

AUTHOR: Troy - (U.S.A.)

I am Troy and this is almost correct information. What Patrica didn't mention is on the very good and trusting faith that she would sign for the extended warantee on the 8010 terminal, at only 9.75\mo, I did in fact send a working terminal to her that she never even attempted to use.

Yes it is true that no matter what company you call you always get a dummy on the phone and then you hang up then you call and get a differant responce, we've ALL gone through that before. When you lease a car and it stops running you don't stop your payments or you get sued and lose the car, right? I am a very good customer service rep and I did only what needed to be done to assist Patrica but trust is a two way street.

I have a cell phone and moved to a house that I don't have coverage in my bedroom, does this mean that I should call my celluar company and curse them out and canel my NON-CANCELABLE contract, I think not! Well that is exactly what Patrica attempted to do. It doesn't work like that and now this swoman has a judgement filed against her by LCG and she didn't even have the common scence to keep the working terminal.

TNB is a great company to deal with so I have no idea why anyone wouldn't want to work with a company that trusts their merchants and maybe it is Patricia's company (out of respect for her I will not mention the name of it) is the type of company you don't want to deal with. It is obvious that no matter what is done, it better be her way or no way. She sets the rules and pays the consiquences, OH WAIT! She doesn't pay... God Bless you Patrica and good luck to you in your life.
