At first, I got ripped off by shoppers advantage. They put through charges after I had made a purchase over the internet. After some time, however, they did cancel the membership. They charged my debit card, which the bank cancelled after this was reported to them, so I never heard from them again. Secondly, after my husband and I made reservations in Malvern, Arknasas, we got involved with Travelers Advantage, as somehow we got signed up, unknowingly, with a promise of a 15% discount on our motel room. When we checked out, the motel didn't know anything about it, so we paid full price. The very next month they charged our credit card with $1.00. We immediately called them and talked in a man named Aaron. He advised he would cancel the membership and we wouldn't has any further charges. This would have been all right with us, after all it was only $1.00 and not worth fighting over; however, this month we got a charge from them of $15.99 on our credit card (for something we're not using), so again we called and again we were taken care of. We'll see, but after reading the ripoff report, am not sure. We have, however advised our credit card company not to honor any further charges from them. Needless to say, public beware!

I have, this date, received an e-mail that my membership was officially cancelled 5/28/09 and that I should be receiving a credit within 30 days. The girl that signed it, Jessica, seemed to have it together, except for the date it was to be cancelled, but no biggy, at least if I don't get charged again. My credit card company has also but a hold on the charges. Needless to say, I've made a hard copy of the correspondence, in case I need it, but this should all be resolved within the next 30 days. I didn't need held, but thanks for letting me blow off steam.
