Treaddepot sold me tires that were 17 months old!   Order date 03/08/2013

I have purchased 3 sets of tires in the last year from them online; a set of Coopers, a set of Pirelli's and this set of Kumho tires.  The first two orders were fine but Treaddepot.com dropped the ball on the last transaction.

The company espouse great customer service but didn't follow through when I called to say that the $800 order of tires I just had installed on my truck were 17 months old.  I mentioned that these should not have been offered as new but put on the outlet side of their site and I requested a discount on my next order from them.  I was put on hold and I assume the customer service rep was checking with a supervisor.

Rather than an apology, the rep told me that the industry standard is to sell tires that are up to five years old but that treaddepot doesnt sell anything older than four years old.

Image the customer rep bragging that they would sell tires up to four years old and the news media telling people that tires should be inspected if five years old and replaced if older than seven years.  When I asked if they were going to do anything for me he said he couldnt.

I copied this comment to their contact area of their website that stated  Tread Depot is committed to providing outstanding customer service and professional advice to its customers. Should you have questions regarding products, using this website or have any recommendations, feel free to contact us by phone or email No response at all was received.  Great customer service I think not.

Those are still new tires

AUTHOR: Ben - ()

The shelf life of rubber used to make tires is 10 years.  Most companies don't sell new tires that are older than 5 years, concider yourself lucky to get tires that were only 17 months old.  Before badmouthing a company on a subject you have little knowledge of, other than a simple google search and watching tv, I suggest you take the advice that was given to you from the experts.

"I mentioned that these should not have been offered as new but put on the outlet side of their site and I requested a discount on my next order from them."   Seriously? you're not even qualified to make such a suggestion let alone, expect some sort of appology based on your ignorance.  You should stop spamming this site with your baseless complaints.
