Triad is a company that rips people off

AUTHOR: Laurie - (U.S.A.)

Angie....
I too have been ripped off by Triad. I made payments on time or before the payment due date. I made it through either speed pay or western union and make sure I had confirmation numbers. Several times Triad "did not get my payments" eventhough I gave them my confirmation numbers, dates etc. I refused to give them my checking account numbers. Several times I paid several months ahead of time. They still called saying that I had not made any payments.

I had my bills sent to my P.O. Box, so when I made my final payment for my automobile, they sent me a congratulations and you will get your pink slip with in 14 business days. I waited and waited, but they have never sent the pink. I emailed them and told them if with in 5 days (not business) that I did not get a pink slip, I would be filing in court, plus file a complaint at Consumer affairs here in CA. I did not get the pink but I did get the lien release.

During the whole time that I have had to deal with Triad...their employees have been rude, threatened my family, have tried every way to lie, been discriminatory to me and my husband. I have not been late for any payments, but irregardless, no company has any right to disrespect anyone.

just got my first call........

AUTHOR: Thomas - (U.S.A.)

I refinanced my car loan with "Road Loans" a.k.a Triad. My payment due date was 6-23-06 (on a friday) at 8am on monday they called and left a message for me to call. No problem.

So I called when I got the message after work, the person on the phone said it was a courtesy call. I said thats fine. They wanted to know when I would send my payment, I told them this friday, she then informed me I would be called up to 9 times a day until my payment was recieved, not only that but she stated it mite take up too 2 or 3 weeks to post my payment and i would continue to receive 9 calls a day until it was posted.

It was made very clear I was going to be harrased. She was very rude and mean twords the end of the call. Stating how I would be put in the "high risk credit in box". Did I mention my payment was due friday and its only monday? LOAN SHARK - YES I AGREE.

ANGIE YOU GOT HELP!!!!

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

Angie donot get discouraged by this obvious plant (Maria). You are doing a great job. Triad and their associates just don't get it. THEY ARE BREAKING LAWS as part of their normal way of doing business and this sh** needs to stop.

It does not matter what a person or business situation is- paying on time, paying late, being a sub lender, or whatever, you still can't BREAK laws to enforce your policies- point and simple. The FTC do not give anyone the authority to supersede thier laws regardless of the situation. So this so call Maria argument is mute.

I don't care if Triad ia a sub-prime lender it DONOT give them them the right to do the things they do. If they are not willing to do it right they need to get out of the business. Sooner or later something major is going to happen. No-one can stay in business long using these type of tactics. Their are other sub-lenders that donot engage in these type of practices and still make a profit.

Angie get in touch with me. You got help.

YADDA, YADDA, YADDA......

AUTHOR: Angie - (U.S.A.)

Boy Marie, you are one powerful person. Let's see, if you can judge people the way you do, think you know everything, have all the right answers, have the ablility to place jugement on people, that must put you right up there with God Almighty. I'm just wondering how misersble of a person you really are. If you don't know the whole story on someone's situation, keep quite. It doesn't involve you and your "know it all" attitude. Good Riddens Marie, your remarks have out welcomed themselves.

Not a CSR

AUTHOR: Marie - (U.S.A.)

Actually, I am not a CSR and not paid to post anything. I am not hired to look at this - I found this site looking for something else.

I post because I believe people should always stand up for what is right. I have repeatedly said that people with VALID complaints should have the wrongs they suffered righted.

I don't know how much clearer I can be.

Angie - it's "Good-bye", thanks for proving what an educated consumer you are, and showing people the type of person they are listening to. Someone that can't spell grade-school level words wants to hand out legal advice. Yikes.

I have offered alternative solutions to people, given them explanations and used my experience working for *several* companies in finance to assist people and explain what they can do. Constructive ideas that may actually help them. That was my goal.

I will not be quiet, not everyone is on your suing bandwagon. Some people are just confused, frustrated, scared and in need of real advice. They are still customers and acting foolish or BREAKING THE LAW may not be acceptable to them. For those people, I hope they explore all their options. Educate themselves and do whats right for them.

One more time so you two will understand - my post started with advice not to distract from the *real* wrongs done. If you blur the issue with legitimate business choices, even though they may be upsetting on a personal level, they do not show a company that has done anything wrong.

Good luck to those that have real issues. I hope you find the resolution you are looking for.

Marie is a CSR for Triad. Triad, as well as some other companies have a stooge that posts to these threads to defend their companies and try to take the attention away from themselves and the issue .... Kinda like "Bagdad Bob" (THERE ARE NO AMERICAN TROOPS IN BAGDAD!!!)he says as US troops are pounding away at them just down the street. Pay no attention to her. Triad is one more 800lb gorilla that needs to be put out of our misery.

Your rebuttal is humerous. Your opinion has no merit as far as I am concerned. Your replies are a joke. Unless you have been a victim of Triad, stay out of it, keep your opinions to yourself and preach to yourself in front of a mirror, that way you will for sure have an attentive audience. Good-Buy

I hope people consider the source.

AUTHOR: Marie - (U.S.A.)

Your brilliant reply should, hopefully, motivate people to see you're an angry person throwing a temper tantrum and be wary of taking your advice. People should listen and consider the source.

You had no reply for my calm - non-offensive post. You had nothing intelligent to say, no rebuttal other than a rude remark. I can't say I am shocked.

You make suggestions to people that could get them in serious legal trouble ("hide the car") You're a bully on a bandwagon. I have seen people here that have legitimate complaints. You're just here to stir trouble and shake things up.

I seriously hope you grow up or find some positive venue that could use your energy - beyond your witch hunt.

To those that have honest issues - good luck. As I *clearly* stated - the people with fair complaints should be addressed and wrongs should be set right. I hope you look into all your options for resolution and keep in mind that *even people posting here have a motive*. Make sure you know what someones motive is before you take their advice. Someone angry, bitter and vengeful that had a bad experience telling you to do something that sounds *wrong or illegal* you should reconsider. There are other solutions. Explore them all. Talk to friends, family, a lawyer, etc. Whatever you deem appropriate for your situation - but do not let one person over the top make your choices for you.

My opinions are my own. I am not on any payroll. I am here out of curiosity, and having a lot of experience on these issues - I spoke up.

To the people that defend this SHADY COMPANY

AUTHOR: Kelley - (U.S.A.)

To those that have defended Triad ......have you not read the many many other posts on this company?? What about a car that has been PAID FOR and the TITLE has been cleared BY TRIAD and I have a letter FROM TRIAD stating that my lien was satisfied October 11, 2005 and then 6 months later they repo my car?? You are telling me because Triad is a 'second chance ' lender that this is acceptable, that they can do what they want to people because they have bad credit?? Just because you have bad credit does not mean you don't have money. People get in trouble , things happen and yes they still need to pay their bills ON TIME , but what about the people that do and STILL get screwed? You cannot tell me its legal to take a car that is not LEGALLY theirs any longer. And I'm telling you now , Triad will pay dearly for what they have done to me , I will make sure of it.

Have you not read other posts that Triad will not release the title because the car was not legally theirs? Yes , people will whine because they can't pay their bills and get mad. But there are definitely legitimate concerns regarding this company. They cannot be allowed to take payments out of your bank without authorization which I have proof that they did this to me 3 times in the course of my loan. THIS IS NOT LEGAL!

Once again THEY CANNOT CONTINUE TO SCREW PEOPLE AND GET AWAY WITH IT JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE A SECOND CHANCE LENDER!To those that have a good experience with Triad then thank your lucky stars.Angie, I have filed my complaint with the FTC , with the Attorney generals office in California and Michigan and waiting to hear back. My lawyer says I have an EXCELLENT case against Triad. I will keep you posted and to ANGIE...THANK YOU for everything you are doing. Us true victims will not go away and WILL BE HEARD until this company CEASES IN BREAKING FEDERAL AND STATE LAWS. Its not a matter of bitterness and vengence to whom ever wrote this, ITS A MATTER OF RIGHT AND WRONG AND BREAKING THE LAW!!!!

Glad for the positive notes!

AUTHOR: Marie - (U.S.A.)

Angie,

I think some of your arguments get discredited by including people in a class action lawsuit that are just upset their vehicle was taken after they have failed to pay the contracted amount.

Regardless of personal feelings, as much as people would love to say thats a "rip off" - it's really not.

When consumers purchase an automobile, at the dealership you have the right to buy insurance for death, disability, etc. Most people opt out of those coverages. Unfortunately, if you chose not to take insurance and something does happen to you, or one of the cosigners - then the car will likely be repossessed if they payments are unpaid.

There are companies that repo at 15 days past due. Thats the reality. Other companies allow you 1, 2, or 3 payments before they take action - but every company will try to recover the loss if they believe they will no longer be getting any payments.

True rip-off complaints should be your focus. I agree everyone should be treated with respect, but I *also* believe that to be given respect you need to act like a respectable adult. I don't know how some people were raised, but my Mom never told me I could have hand outs, keep something I am not paying for, or throw a fit when things didn't go MY way. (God knows I have.. but its not how I was raised ;) )

Suggesting to people they should hide a vehicle they are not paying for is criminal. You only discredit yourself. How on earth would you try to hold people to a higher standard - when you yourself think like a common thief? How is hiding a car you know you don't own, and you cannot afford to keep - any better then jumping in someones running car at the gas station?

I understand you're jaded. You're upset. But before you cause more harm then good, I hope you find your way back to your path. Fighting to get things changed is fantastic. Fighting for bitterness and vengeance is destructive.

Good for You

AUTHOR: Angie - (U.S.A.)

I'm glad you are satisfied with Roadloans. But the key word for you is "recently" took out a loan. Let's talk to you in about 3-4 months and see if you still feel the way you do when all of a sudden you have late fees added to your balance that can't be explained but you are told you need to pay them. Then you start getting phone calls 10,11,12 times a day wondering when you are going to make your payment when you insist you did. Come to find out, without your knowlegdge, Triad has taken it upon themselves to change the due date on your loan. You are now behind on your payment. Or, your payment gets cashed and you start getting harassing phone calls for a payment you already sent and was cashed. That is always a fun one.

One better than that though, is the Western Union payment that should hit your account within the hour, but lo and behold, it doesn't get posted until they make d**n sure it is late. Your receipt means nothing. Which in turn leads to the inaccurate reporting to the credit bureaus. Get what I'm saying? That's great if you are having a good experience with Triad. I think that makes 3 satisfied customers. Down the road, if you find yourself in the path of those you just insulted, please don't hesitate to write your own rebuttal and tell us your horrible experience with a company that has over 530 complaints on file in 36 months.

Good Luck to you. Oh, by the way, I got a bank to lend me $21000 for my new vehicle dispite the inaccurate reporting to the credit bureaus by Triad.

TIMOTHY M; There are few lenders who would lend me 20,000 which roadloans did

AUTHOR: Timothy - (U.S.A.)

I recently took out a car loan with Roadloans, and my experience so far has been great, My credit is not good, my fico score is about 550, There are few lenders who would lend me 20,000 which roadloans did, I damaged my credit years ago and now I am working to repair it. Roadloans is a "subprime" lender, so of course they are going to call you as soon as you are late, and if you dont pay of course they are going to come and get your vehicle...My suggestion to all the people who are complaining is pay your car payment on time and you will never have a problem with roadloans. It seems all the complaints about roadloans.com are from people who don't pay their car payments on time or at all... Pay your Bills and stop complaining

Don't get too comfortable

AUTHOR: Angie - (U.S.A.)

Michelle, I respect what you wrote, but not always is it the customers fault. Triad has changed peoples monthly due date without their knowledge, they have sold vehicles without a clear title, reported inacurrate information to the credit reporting agencies(if I were you I'd check to make sure you are not a victim), there is so many other things they have done illegal it is unreal.

I have received phone calls not only from investigators in Los Angeles, but also the news media. They wanted to do a story about Triad to expose them for who they are. I reported them to my State Attorney General Consumer Affairs Division, and it was quite pathetic when I am told how well known they are because of the complaints. The Consumer Affairs Division has their Legal Department's phone number on their bulletin board.

You may concider youself one of the lucky ones, but there are many people that were victimized from this company and they did nothing wrong. I hope things keep going in your favor and that they don't hang you out to dry. Concider yourself lucky. But remember, luck has a way of running out. Best of luck to you.

no problems for me

AUTHOR: Michelle - (U.S.A.)

I'm sorry so many of you have had problems with Triad. Lets be honest for a minute though, Triad is a "second chance" company for those of us with bad credit, for many people, me included, the only way to get financing and a chance to improve your credit score! You can't be late on payments with them, at all, if you read your fine print, you will know that. They take a risk on consumers with bad history, and they are trying to minimize their risk. The best thing to do is get the lowest price for your vehicle possible, deal with Triad for the shortest time possible, make your payments early and refinance as soon as possible. That's what I did, when I desperately needed a new car, and the few times I was late I heard about it.

Oh, and I found the best way to make payments was automatic deductions, and Western Union at times. Poor customer service (yelling, cursing at customers, etc) shouldn't be allowed, tolerated, whatever, but I do believe they have the right to start calling ASAP with late payments until its resolved to their satisfaction and I'm pretty sure that's specified in their contracts. Be careful what you sign in the future!

Re: Triad/Roadloans
Angie in Minnesota

Your statements regarding being a " victim" of Roadloans and attempting to "insight" a group to form a class action against the same, ring very hollow!

I found the Roadloans experience to be very easy and very beneficial toward the end result of purchasing a vehicle.

I can only surmize that, apparently you wanted something for nothing and expected Roadloans to work miracles with your finanical situation.

It's a loan -- not a gift or grant. " There aren't any free lunches out there!

"Victim" -- my guess is "cry baby" wanting something for nothing. Get on with your life and take the appropriate steps to repair your credit history. Respectfully
