I just checked my account and found a charge for $119.99 on my acct. This was the same day as my call. My bank said it is for an online purchase. I was also at the gas station within one minute of the "online purchase" - and surprise- nowhere near my computer. I have closed my account and have filed a fraud complaint with my bank. Tomorrow I will also file a complaint with my Attorney General's office. The banker I worked with said this company comes up over and over again and she has worked with many customers who have had the same problem I am now having. I will make sure to shout my complaint against this company from the proverbial mountain top.

This company is often on the receiving end of litigation and tries to find ways around new consumer advocacy and privacy laws.
Charges on credit cards used to start with CDT*, but then was changed to TLG*. Don't know if they've changed it to something to fit the new Affinion name. I believe that if you were signed up through America On Line, you may have seen AOL* before the service name.
Whether you see a charge for "Just for Me", "Travelers Advantage", "Shoppers Advantage", "Hotline", or whatever, it is all the same company. Simply a different product, and a different 800 number that routes to different representatives. None of the products are worth the cost, and most products are just mixes and repackages of the other benefits of the other products. So Travelers Advantage didn't sell your info to Just for Me. It's the same company, and they decided that if you signed up for one product, you are likely to sign up for another.
TLG's marketing practices are deceptive in my opinion (such as small print on some form you fill out), and whatever company helps them get another customer gets a percentage of the membership fees for one or more years. This is usually a bank or hotel or something.
The only good thing I can say about this company is that over the years I saw many billing errors (which can be expected given the huge number of weekly transactions for this company), but each time we found an error, we were able to fix it immediately, and the rule of thumb was to give a refund and extend their membership term so they would get extra free months. The only cases that I found where people were continually billed after requesting cancellation was when there was one or a combination of the following: A person joining multiple times (I assume accidentally), multiple address changes, card reissue and card number changes. All of these things sometimes made it difficult to find the exact membership that needed to be cancelled when someone called to complain. From what I saw, the billing/cancellation reps sincerely tried to fix/cancel any membership issues rather than let them would turn into fodder for an Attorney General.
They try to pull you in with this "get a free 3 day vacation anywhere" when all it is is a TIME SHARE option that costs you an arm and a leg, then the GOLD membership thing is nothing but a load of crap (that's what they sold you), they sell your name to companies Cendant either owns or is partnered with and it's good that you closed yoru account.
They are a shady company and on the BBB's bad company list. They treated their employees like crap as well. When they shut us down they kept saying "no no we aren't closing" then they cancelled all of our Travel Agent cards without tellign us and started to "fire" employees for stupid stuff.
Trust me, don't book with them, I used to work there and I will NEVER buy another ticket from Cheaptickets as long as I live and neither will my family or friends or other ex employees that I'm still friends with.
