A positive post will result in multiple attacks from others claiming YOU are a fraud. They'll claim YOU are really the business owner in disguise trying to promote your business. You may even have a site administrator contact you putting you on trial. Even though you're legit...you're post will probably get pulled.
Negative posts are subject to similar pressure. You'll be attacked as a business owner who wants to trash competitors. The logic being your business will increase.
Who are the 3rd-party-people to believe? That's the problem. Since there are no police who investigate the people who post (nor shall there be) anyone can say anything they want (and they DO!). The result is that forum reviews from Tripadvisor are really terrible.
And having a site administrator contact you only to pull your honest review doesn't help the web site.
I feel sorry for the workers at tripadvisor. They certainly don't know who to believe...even after a direct conversation with a customer.
Do yourself a favor. Use the site for business listings ONLY. If you want reviews, get them from no less than 20 different sites.
