This company is a direct sales company that uses deceptive tactics in their job postings to lure job seekers, especially young grads. They promise fast growth and opportunity but are merely hiring people as contractors (no benefits, no sick days, and little to no compensation for traveling) for door-to-door sales.
The company is located on the 5th floor of 690 8th Avenue in Manhattan. This is the same EXACT address as The Henry Group, Polaris, and EQM. These 3 companies have been written about extensively on this site and do the exact same thing as Troy International with the same exact interview process. These companies are nowhere to be found and I'm guessing that it's the same group of people who change the company's name when people catch on.
I had an interview there a few days ago. They are in between a souvenir shop and a McDonalds. They tell you that you will need to be signed in and given a visitors pass to get into to the office. But when you get there, the lobby is the size of my bathroom with no security guard. The directory says that EQM is located on the 5th floor and a man who I met in the lobby said that EQM was the same thing as Troy International.
The office is disgusting (dirty and with peeling paint) and has nothing on the walls or brochures that say Troy or EQM. It really looks like they just moved in the day before. Interviewees are coming in and out every few minutes. I interviewed with the president, Jason Malone (who didn't identify himself as president until I started voicing my concerns). He got really defensive when I told him what I found out about Polaris and EQM and wouldn't listen to what I said. I left and did research and found so much more information. Check it out on the post I wrote
