After receiving a few complaints regarding possible email filtering and alteration by True.com, we investigated this web site and found that the body portion of an email message does in fact become altered when key words are used. A few test messages were sent to dummy accounts with examples of public email addresses, such as: johndoe@yahoo.com. The message that the recipient receives is altered and instead contains their True member ID @TrueBeginnings.com. More tests would show that when just placing key words like 'yahoo' somewhere in the message, the word 'yahoo' is replaced with 'TrueBeginnings.com.' At this point we reviewed the TOS(Terms of Service) and the Privacy Policy for this site and found no indication that filtering would be performed on the body portion of an email message. However, the Privacy Policy does refer to 'Header stripping,' which will hide the original email address from the sender. Header striping is in no way related to message body filtering. Furthermore, the most concerning is that when a user checks his/her 'Sent Messages' box, the message they sent appears normal and unmolested.
We have sent an email to both Customer Service at True.com as well as the Administrative Contact for the domain True.com in regards to this complaint. Their response will be added to this report when received.

After still no response from the email message sent to True.com, we called to cancel our free accounts and asked if the representive knew anything about email filtering and where we could find it. The representitive was nice and admitted that she did not know, but gave us an address to where we can send a request. We then checked the sign-up process for this web site and found that the "Terms of Use" that is completely inaccessable once you are already a member, does however state that they can filter out your email address. However, the title for this subsection is misleading:

Although I understand and acknowledge that TRUE has no duty to prescreen, control, monitor or edit the content posted by members using the Service and is not liable for content that is provided by others, I agree and understand that TRUE may, but is not required to, review, edit and delete any content, email, messages, photos or profiles that, in TRUE's sole judgment, violates this Agreement or which may be offensive, illegal, unsafe or that might violate the rights of other members. If I am using the Service without cost (e.g., through a free trial or other form of free membership privileges), then I also agree that (a) I will not share an email address, instant message address or other similar address with TRUE members other than my True email address, and (b) TRUE has the right to remove any such address from my email or other communications and/or to substitute my TRUE email address in place of such address in my communications.
