EDitor's UPDATED info 2-20-04: Rip-off Report is still receiving complaints that they are not receiving the refunds as promised. Rip-off Report has been in contact with the Company and has made them aware of these issues. They have assured us that refunds are being given to those who are providing them with all the correct contact information requested by them. They have also provided confirmation/proof of over 2,600 refunds to date, on a spreadsheet, and Rip-off Report staff called and verified more than a dozen consumers at random, all very angry & outraged, but, they all did get their refund. The company again apologized for the delay and reported that credit to your account could take as long as 4-5 days. As we understand it, this company only does the processing for all the other companies, so they are at the mercy of those companies funds, further delaying your refund.

Rip-off Report is hoping they will live up to what they have promised, we think they will, ..we'll see. Rip-off Report will continue to investigate more into this situation, and we will eventually post an UPDATE to the main Report at this web address: https://www.ripoffreport.com/view.asp?id=76605

In December 2003 my husband and I received a call from a sales rep by the name of Tim Carter from World Trust Benefits. He told us we were approved for an unsecured Mastercard with a credit limit of $2000.00. We told him we never filled out any application to receive a credit card, he then proceeded to let us know that they were behind in processing and we applied for this card a year ago. He said all he needed was $299.00 to pay the one time membership fee for the unsecured Mastercard.

Having been turned down recently for a home loan and a car loan we were excited about the prospects of improving our credit with this Mastercard so we reluctantly agreed. Tim carter asked if we had a checking account as he would be able to deduct the membership fee automatically. He told us we would have our credit card within 15 to 20 days after they deducted the fee.

World trust Benefits deducted the fee on Jan 5th so we had expected a credit card on feb 3. we made several phone calls to Trust Benefits and were told that they were behind in processing. After several more phone calls, we finally recieved The Trust Benefit packet on feb 8th. I made a phone call to the company asking them why this packet came and not the credit card. The rep told me that the credit card would come 3 weeks after the packet.

By March 1st still no credit card, we then decided to try and call again to 866-260-6166 phone was no longer in service. We finally logged on to your web site and found other people in our position. We have since called our bank to report fraud against World Trust Benefits.
