For tax year 2007 I just got a notice from the IRS stating we owed $1800. I contacted Tax resources inc, or the audit defense center. At first they said it would be a 3-5 day turnaround. It took 7 business days. Problem was the IRS had sent the notice to the wrong address, (we had moved) and by the time I got the notice we had 11 days to respond or pay the bill. A fact that Turbo tax and audit defense center were fully aware of when I made the claim.
Fast forward to today August 12th. The notice has a due date of today, I have called since yesterday afternoon 4 times for my "representative" plus left a message for the manager. I was told it would take 5 days for a manager to call me back...5 DAYS!!! I thought managers were supposed to resolve things for people. I still have not heard back from as to if I should pay the bill, not pay it, or they have worked something out. I called and asked what I should do, and all I was told was that IRS would just send me another notice. I then asked if they would pay the late fees due their incompetence and slowness. Of course they said no....SO what exactly am I paying for? I could have paid the bill and avoided late fees, without contacting them.
All I needed was an update to say the IRS gave us an extension while we work it out, that the full amount is still due...SOMETHING..of course I get nothing..
There was no one that could help me over the phone..no one! Of course the 888 phone number goes to a different office than where the representative is, so they can't even put me on hold so I can wait for the representative to help me.
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY, THE ONE TIME I ACTUALLY NEEDED THEM FOR A RELATIVELY MINOR ISSUE, I CAN'T EVEN GET A RESPONSE.
YOU CAN'T EVEN GET A MANAGER ON THE PHONE TO GET A REFUND! SO MUCH FOR 100% SATISFACTION
