By abusing their power and varying regulations so buildings were built illegally they delayed building progress and allowed buildings to be constructed and then applied retrospective penalties inflated and unrealistic Thus inherent delays and financial restraints prevented habitation licences being issued that resulted in those properties being sold to pay fines and not supplied to their rightful owners.Constant disputes with national regulations and planning directives as the non ruling party and conflict with Ankara planning directives caused all delays and financial penalties to be incurred by developers and construction firms.

The Major of this corrupt council has already been prosecuted by his own government but a sham of a trial and a sham of an excuse as why he was paid lump sums leaves him still in power to run a council that is now famous in its own country for corruption.The regime still continues even though it has caused many foreign purchasers to loose their life savings. It is common knowledge that inflated fees have to be paid to this council to get anything completed even though many of the illegally built buildings are because it was them that gave permission for them to be built. Symptomatic of a "hidden cultural" corruption that perpetuates the problem and allows fraudsters to flourish this Council is a black spot in a proud country and needs to be brought under control whatever political face it hides behind it is wrong in any developed society.

They constantly are investigated by their ruling party but a body which is independent should stop these crooks maintaining a control on this blot on Turkeys good name.
