Twin Lakes Apartments Dishonest, criminal, rip-off, pet fees, poor maintenance Palm Harbor, Florida

Twin Lakes apartments charges a one-time $300 pet fee (not a deposit) and additionally $20 per month for having a pet. We lived in our apartment there for 14 months and during that time paid $580 in "pet" charges alone. We also steam cleaned our carpets 2 times while living there.

At the time of our moving out, Twin Lakes sent us a "bill" for an additional $400 for carpet damage.
This was sent to us in writing. We responded to the letter letting them know that we would not be paying that money to them and that any "damage" to the carpet is just usual wear-and-tear of living in a space for 14 months.

They have since sent our "bill" to collections so my once-high credit score will now be completely ruined because of Twin Lakes' need to suck their tenants for invalid money "owed" to them.

Additionally, when our lease was up and we were still in negotiations on our house purchase, we had to do month-to-month. We ended up paying them $1200 per month with all of the month-to-month fees, etc. The apartment was in no way, shape or form nice enough to pay that kind of money for. I pay that amount for my 2,000 sq. foot house with a pool, etc.

Watch out, apartment seekers. These guys will feign to service you and handle your apartment maintenance but their "fixit" jobs are shoddy at best. It's not worth all of the trauma to live in this apartment community. They will suck you for every dollar that they can.
