Complaint Review: Two Bit Tow/big Dog Towing, Fresno CA
Two Bit Tow/big Dog Towing, Fresno CA2590 N Madera Ave Kerman, California U.S.A.
Two Bit Tow/big Dog Tow, Fresno CA Towing service Kerman California
Unfortunately all that two bit tow did was arrive on time. After I ordered a flat bed they arrived with a regular tow truck. Once they had set up the truck on the lift portion of the tow truck I noticed the rear right tire was low on air. I mentioned that I had a spare with more air in it and mentioned the driver could change it if he needed to. I also mentioned that I had ordered a flat bed. He said there was no need to change the tire and that if there was a problem with the tire he would call in a flatbed. Never did he mention this might cost me more for this situation.
I had other things that were time sensitive to take care of so I let the tow truck driver take care of it.
Once I was finished with my other errands I headed out to meet up with the tow truck driver at the transmission shop. Unfortunately on the freeway I found my truck smoking the right rear tire in the middle lane down the freeway. I had my nephew with me and we both witnessed my truck tire ripping apart while pieces flew all over my nephews car.
The truck was travaling at 65-70 miles an hour while towing.I was not able to stop but it was obvious that the tow truck driver was not bright at all. Unfortunately I assumed the company would take care of the responsibility of his negligence. I called the transmission shop and let him know the truck might arrive late.
The driver called me to let me know that I had jinxed him and he had to change the tire. He then told me I would have to pay more for him to change the tire. He had no idea I saw what happened. He told me it was a bad tire. The company owner who called himself roger told me that he was initially going to impound my vehical??? but then he phoned back to let me know he was just going to charge me for the changing of the tire.
I called back and had to leave a message. I was nice but firm about the cost of the tire and the fact that I would have paid more for the changing of the tire if it was done before it was put on the road.
I was never charged more for the tire change but when i talked to the owner "roger" he informed me he had no intention of paying for the damages. He also said he had delt with "people like me before and he had a good lawyer".
The small print does say the responsibility rides on the shoulders of the independent driver and his insurance.
It gets better, the transmission shop said I should come to the shop to inspect the vehicle before they touched it because it looked like there could be other damage.
Turns out the other damage was from the driver throwing the shredded tire into the back of the truck without being careful. The total damage to my truck including the tire is over 400.00.
I used my bank to take action and I hope through master card to solve the issue of the initial charge for towing.
I am taking the company and the driver to small claims court but the real solution is sharing my experience's and the nature of this companies business ethics.
Don't walk, run in the other direction if two bit tow or any of the big dog towing associates come your way. The receipt says "if this operator leaves you less than happy than he found you --call us, your vehicle relocation may be free"
