Two Brothers Moving corp. These people quoted me $1100 for moving and then charged me $4700 when my stuff was loaded. Internet Clifton, New Jersey

I hired this Company with the understanding that they would ship my belongings from  Revere MA to  Oklahoma City OK 73135.  The estimated weight was 1100# I told Leslie (representative of Two Brothers Moving) that I had a limited amount of furniture that basically consisted of 3 TV sets a computer a computer desk and entertainment center a chair 2 sets of golf clubs and about. 5 tool cases and a Lot of clothes. After reading her contract I tried to add all the small things for her.  She listed my belongs as 2 bedrooms. I assumed that was about the same as the inventory I gave them.

The price for moving and packing up my belongings including the materials and highway fees was still $1100.00.  The movers were suppose to be there at 08:30 and didn't arrive til 11:20.  Sal (the boss I assumed) was supposed to show up with 4men plus him.  He showed up with 2 men and himself.  He said instead of WEIGHT he would measure my load by CUBIC FEET I didn't want this but said it was the same.  I let them proceed and noticed they had only a few boxes in the truck not much more than about 6 wardrobe boxes and about 10 or 12 regular boxes.

They took tape and taped the top of the wardrobe boxes sides up and filled them with my stuff just laying things on things and not wrapping the individual items.  When it was filled they would take wrapping paper and lay it on top and tape it down with lots of tape. I had a love seat couch in the basement that was taken too. There were 3 sets of stairs to my place that they had already charged me $75 for and said because there were more that they had to charge me more he said (Sal) $300 but the total would be only $225 -$75. When the loading was done Sal said the total was $4500.00" I Was Flabbergasted! To say the least but was told that I had to write a check for the full amount immediately.  They had my stuff and what was I to do. 

I called the company the next day because it was past 6 P.M. when they finished and asked if I should cancel my check.  I was told not to that it would be all straightened out and I waited a day and in that day they of course CASHED my check.  When I got my stuff that I was assured was placed on a pallet and safely saran wrapped to prevent breakage I found it had been stacked all in tall boxes and no buffering or wrapping material used.  All was jumbled and broken and a real mess when I opened the boxes.  I was also overcharged for the boxes that they said were free of charge.  They charged me for 6 crates and no crates were used , 4 picture boxes of which 1 was used and 110 roles of tape.  That's enough tape to go up and down the Empire State building 5 times. Sorry but I was in shock and didn't catch this until they had gone.. hurry we need to go it's so late so sign here and here and here..etc.
