I purchased a very nice 2 way paging Viper 791xv Car security system from Car Stereo Express. I was a loyal customer for many years but i always bought products and installed them myself, this was the first time I allowed them to work on my vehicle.

About 5 hours after picking up my vehicle after the alarm installation, the dash of my vehicle fell off in my lap. Upon inspection I found that none of the screws had been put back in.

I went back to Car Stereo Express the next day. I was told by the owner that they didn't remove my dash to install anything. (I actually saw my dash laying on the ground in the install bay while the alarm was being installed.) He stated that it was my fault it fell out. He called me a liar anr to leave before I scared his customers I refused and immediatly called the police, while I was standing outside. The police told me that the only thing they could do is take a report.

Over the next few days while I was putting the dash back in my car (it took days because 2 pieces of my dash were broken and had to be ordered at the dealership, to the tune of $350) when i disassembled the dash I found a module that said Viper 791xv. I went back and showed him the module, He said i must have moved it.

about 6 months later the remote transmitter malfunctioned, and Car Stereo Express would not honor the warranty. I called Directed Electronics (manufacturer of Viper) they told me that Car Stereo Express was not an authorized Directed Dealer and that they have recieved many complaints about this company. Directed sent me a new transmitter, But i still had to pay another Stereo shop $50 to reprogram my alarm and the new transmitter. And on top of it all I have had to repair over 10 of the wiring connections that they made because they came loose. Very shoddy workmanship.

I would never do business with them again, that is coming from someone who enjoyed doing busness with them for a number of years prior to this incedent. I tell every one I know and meet how shady Car Stereo Express is.

Once Again, Another Bad Installation w/ No Customer Service

Allen, that's no surprise to hear another story of a bad installation with no customer satisfaction. It seems more the norm now than the exception.

You are definitely doing the right thing by letting others know about it. I would encourage to tell the lousy shop you've listed them on Ripoffreport-dot-com as well.

In my part time I do installation work, especially clean-up jobs for bad work. There are a LOT of bad shops out there! People end up paying TWICE. Once for the LOUSY installation from the local "experts", then a 2nd time for me to clean it up.

Sounds like you would have been better off buying the Viper off of eBay then installing yourself. Not an easy job, but you could do it.

In the future, look at a the vehicles in the parking lot to get an idea about their work (much like a paint/body shop). A (good) reputable shop would take time to address your concerns and even show some work up close...if they have nothing to be afraid of!

Good luck! Sorry to hear about that. But it gives pro installers like me more business!

I filed a rebuttal earlier and just realized that this report was filed by tykemart.com.  I am the owner of tykemart.com, I can tell you for a fact that I would not file a report against my other company Car Stereo Express.  Clearly this report is bogus!

It Never Happened- Report is Bogus

This report never happened.  No one has ever called the police regarding an alarm.  Dash boards are never removed when installing any part of an alarm.  Remotes are never warrantied, customers are told this when they purchase.  The cost for a new remote

Also this customer clearly did not purchase an alarm because a Viper 791XV is only a Viper LCD 2-way remote that works with an alarm.  

We have been in business since 1998 and have a certificate of good standing from the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs as well as no complaints from the Hawaii BBB.  

As for the website tykemart.com it is not an adult website nor do we sell anything on it.  

Perhaps this report was filed by David and his wife Jency of spinsunlimited.com who we reported on Ripoff because they failed to build a website for us last year.  

Clearly who ever is complaining does not know what he is complaining about and has failed to do their research, hence an incorrect model number and incorrect category for the website, as well as the claim that we are not authorized DEI and Viper dealers.  If there is still a doubt that we are authorized dealers feel free to call Ward Kawano of W&W Marketing, the only DIE Distributor in the state, or call DEI directly and speak to Eric who is in charge of our account.  

The first complaint came suspiciously on the heels of our complaint regarding spinsunlimited.com and after our bank approved our disputed unauthorized credit card charge made on our card by David from spinsunlimited.com.  We had suspected that the initial report was filed by David and/or Jency to retaliate for our complaint.

The initial report was ignored because frankly we are too busy to participate in such pettiness and do not feel that an online site is the proper forum to engage in such activities.  Clearly since the weblinks on the spinsunlimited.com site are being blocked as malware David and his wife have nothing better to do than harass us because I reported them for being the scammers that they are. They stole the website flipitbaby.com and have the nerve to include it in this complaint. That website was registered to one of David's bogus companies ezycgi.com, not to any of us.  

 As for tykemart.com it has not even launched, it is still in beta testing and only someone who took the time to look for it would know of it's existence.  A regular Car Stereo Express customer wouldn't even know of it.  Clearly it's the work of David and Jency, I guess they miss the monthly fees they charged me for months before I realized they did not know what they were doing and that they transferred my website to their name.
