I responded to a newspaper ad that read:

"NOW HIRING LOCALLY Large National Organization Avg. Pay $20 hr. over $55K annually Including full benefits and OT. Paid Training, Vacations, FT/PT. 1-866-920-8433"

The organization claimed to be affiliated with the U.S. Government Postal Service as an exam source (take exams at home). I was coerced into paying $129.45 for materials. 30 minutes later, I discovered that the organization was not at all affiliated with any government organization, and certainly not the Postal Service. I called to stop the transaction, and they seemed to be compliant. The next day, the funds had been withdrawn. I called the company to demand an explanation and a refund, needless to say I was on the phone all day. They promised to return the funds in 3-5 business days. Today is day five. Another scam promising services and materials with a shining affiliation that does not exist.

My bank statement lists the company as 'US WORK ALLIANCE INC"

BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scammed

US Work Alliance Is Credible, Please Read To Learn

AUTHOR: Devin, US Work Alliance, Public Relations - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 20, 2007

US Work Alliance/Exam Services is not a scam. We are an independent, private company that provides study guide materials for those who want help in preparing for the Postal Service Exam.

We regret the inconveniences that you have experienced while attempting to get a USPS job. In this response I'll try to explain where you may have experienced a misunderstanding. The ad that you read is intended to bring to your attention the opportunity and benefits of working for a national company. The ad does describe the benefits associated with the USPS. By placing the ad we simply intended to peak the interest of someone looking for a job with those types of benefits. When you dial the number in the ad, you hear a recording saying thank you for inquiring about a USPS job. Then the recording says she will connect you with a USWA representative. This is where the first distinction is made to disassociate ourselves from the USPS.

In the same way that many independent companies offer study guides for the SAT or LSAT to help students achieve a better score on those test, we offer an extensive study guide and other educational materials to help people better prepare for the Postal Battery Exam. The Postal Battery Exam is a competitive exam that can be taken only once every twelve months and candidates must pass with a minimum score of 70% to even be considered for an interview. It is in people's best interest to prepare for the exam and our aim is to help people prepare for this test so that they will pass with an outstanding score and increase their probability of being asked for an interview.

When customers call our 800-number, we fully describe our product and related services. Our customer service representatives follow a strict script to comply with Attorney General as well as post master guidelines to keep our company credible and ethical.
Our Customer Service representatives are highly trained, and many of them have taken the Postal Battery Exam themselves in order to better relate with customers that call in for our study guide.

In addition, we also have a very generous refund policy, we offer a refund to customers if: 1) you do not pass the exam, 2) if you pass the exam and are called in for an interview and don't get offered the job, 3) if you pass the exam and are called in for an interview and are offered the job and accept it and complete one full week of work, 4) if you do not have the opportunity to take an exam in your area for one year.

If you still have not received your refund, please contact us immediately at 800-584-1859.
