As with so many others, here is the "winner" notification that I received today. It does look quite convincing, though a quick look at the email haeder properties quickly reveals that the real source of the mail is as follows :
Received: from x75.infopact.nl (18.104.22.168)
I believe this to be simply a proxy server, so it will probably be difficult to know the real sender, and in any event, I have much better things with which to occupy my time.
I doubt very strongly that the National UK Lottery Board would send anything from any server that does not at least have a .co.uk internet address
Equally, if one simply enters the name cited in the mail ; Sir Bill Stone(Esq), in Google, the result is negative, very surprising for somebody of such importance that he received a knighthood from her gracious majesty !!
DON'T BE TAKEN IN, If you have any doubts (which as a matter of normal prudence, you should have), then take 5 seconds to look at your mail headers - simple.
