On May 2003, we had United Air Comfort come to our house for system check service on our a/c system as advertised in the local paper. Since our system was 20 years old, we expected that we would need additional service.
After 30 minutes, the technician came into the house to give us a review of his findings. Yes we need more freon but there were many other more serious problems and he continued to give us the full list. We bite the idea hook, line and sinker and ended up paying $3,500 for an entirely new system to be installed.
Our problems started in the summer - the hottest part of the year. We called the only number we had - Deerfield Beach, FL, They connected us to a local technician. A technician came out and said it was a drip in the drain pan, the new one (just installed) hadn't been installed properly. So it took him two days - working in our attic at 120 degrees to reinstall and fix the system.
The system continued to work till the end of the summer and when we switched to heat, everything worked fine. Now it's the beginning of the next summer and the ceiling is leaking again. I tried calling the phone number in Florida - the recorded message says: "It's out of my calling area" - on my home phone! I tried it two more times with the same results. I even tried calling the technician's phone number he left us: "phone has been disconnected". What's up!
That's when I came here and found the many, many reports of problems with this company. We're still paying for this new a/c system, and probably will for many years to come. My carpet is detroyed, my ceiling is crumbling and I still don't have a system that works!
I'd call this a rip-off of the first degree! Don't use this company under any conditions!
