I paid $129.95 for a POSTAL BATTERY 473 & 460 exam study guide..required by the USPS to take the test for employment.with full refund if.1.did not pass test...2. did not get job offer ...3. no tests offered in area..
to start after receiving the book.i had to register with www.usworkalliance.com....which didn't exist...
called the service number in the book 1-800-584-1859
no such number
and this to work for the UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT?

The USPS has NOTHING to do with this little scam.
Here, at the bottom of the companies home page is a line of greyed out text at the VERY bottom of the page..obviously deceptive. Very difficult to see or read. I Bolded it here.
Mypostalexam.com is not affiliated with the US Postal Service but sells the latest and most helpful Postal Exam Study Guide.

The study guides advertised in the classifieds pertaining to United States Postal Service exams are a gimmick and reflective of the false advertising the United States Postal Service has been posting from the 90's. At the exams it is told to the test takers that the United States Postal Service doesn't endorse the study guides that are advertised in the classifieds and that the United States Postal Service doesn't charge to take their exams.....A bunch of bullshit, the United States Postal Service goes against it's philosophy of sanctity by lying to interested applicants concerning job openings, and no help provided to prepare for their exam, and that no one is really hired.
The method is the same today as was in the 90's......jumping thru hoops and no work.......Anyone that believes the United States Postal Service is hiring, should go to a Psychiatrist........the United States Postal service also posts falsified ads for employment at its website. And today its harder in that applicants are further tortured to take a Personality exam online that is rigged and no one passes.......

I hate to break it to the poster but this is not really a complaint about the postal service. I am a retired government worker-38 years, 25 1/2 of them with the postal service. This is an old scam-the postal service-indeed, no government agency-sells books or other materials that will guarantee that you will pass the tests and get a job, although some sample test books are sold in book stores. Furthermore, if you read the papers and/or watch the news you should have realized that the postal service is in financial trouble and is offering buyouts to people who will quit or take early retirement. The postal service has not hired anyone in a long time(except for temps at Christmas time) and will likely not do so for a long time.
Yes, you were ripped off and I truly feel bad for you. BUT you were not ripped off by the postal service.
If you charged the purchase I recommend you fight the charges with the credit card company. Good luck.
