LAWRENCE PIRRITINO OF UNITED YACHT SALES AKA UNITED YACHTS IS A LAW BREAKER AND LIAR. RECENTLY I HAD MY YACHT LISTED WITH HIS BROKERAGE THROUGH HIS OFFICE. LAWRENCE NOT ONLY LIED TO SEVERAL PEOPLE HE KNOWINGLY TOOK PART IN THE SALE OF A STOLEN YACHT THEN AS A LICENSED BROKER COMMINGLED MONEY INTO HIS SIDE CORPORATION FIN AND FLY MARINE.
THE FLORIDA YACHT AND SHIP BROKERS ACT CLEARLY STATES ANYONE REPRESENTING THE BUY OR SELL OF A YACHT FOR COMMISSION OVER 33 FEET MUST DO SO AS A BROKER. LAWRENCE DID THIS DEAL AND WHEN EXPOSED WEEKS LATER HIS BOSS WENT ON RECORD SAYING LAWRENCE PIRRITINO WAS DOING THIS ON HIS OWN NOT AS A LICENSED BROKER.
THREE DAYS BEFORE TAKING PART IN THE ILLEGAL SALE HE TOOK A CLIENT KEVIN MC CARTHY TO SEE THE YACHT AS MY BROKER AND EVEN GAVE HIM A SALES PURCHASE AGREEMENT TO TAKE HOME AND MAKE ME AN OFFER.
THREE DAYS LATER HE CALLED THIS SAME BUYER, LIED TO HIM SAYING THIS THIEVES OWNED THE YACHT AND WERE SELLING IT OFF AT AUCTION. HE ALSO ASKED HIM IF HE COULD REPRESENT HIM. LAWRENCE PIRRITINO CLEARLY BROKE SEVERAL LAWS COSTING VICTIMS TENS OF THOUSAND OF DOLLARS.
AFTER THE ILLEGAL SALE THE COAST GUARD DOCUMENTATION CENTER WOULD NOT ALLOW THE TRANSFER BECAUSE THEY IMMEDIATELY SAID " THE SELLERS DID NOT HAVE ANY COURT ORDER SAYING THEY COULD GO TAKE YACHT LIKE THEY DID OR SELL YACHT".
AFTER THE SALE LAWRENCE PIRRITINO TOLD THE BUYER TO WIRE HIS COMMISSION $7100.00 TO HIS ACCOUNT. WE FOUND OUT SHORTLY LATER IT WAS WIRED INTO HIS PRIVATE CORPORATION ACCOUNT FIN AND FLY MARINE AND SPENT WELL BEFORE COAST GUARD SAID ILLEGAL.

By the letter of the law, paying a commission to someone to act as your agent is illegal. I am not sure that the State would enforce such an action, unless a complaint was filed. Even then, it is the person acting as the agent who would be in trouble. However, if you are planning to use someone, it might as well be a licensed, competent broker who can insure that the transaction is handled properly and according to your wishes. For a reduced fee, I would be glad to act for you and assist you after the sale, both with paperwork and any improvements to the boat.
Someday, you might want to sell it, so I look at it as an investment in time to building a relationship.
If this is something to consider, please send me the details on the boat and let's work something out.

That is correct. The broker is "acting as agent" on behalf of the seller and must be a licensed Yacht & Ship Broker with the State of Florida.

In order to help clear their name, they've posted the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations (DBPR) report on this issue. Very interesting to see what they had to say.
