At first, all the houses they sent me to had people inside. This was rather aggravating as these houses were far away. US Best Repairs refused to refund me for the costs of gas after sending me to these same houses on multiple occasions. When I finally got to a few houses that didnt have people living there, I started submitting estimates for some of the repairs and maintenance. Of course, none of these estimates were approved.
After doing about 9,000 of work for this company, the company stopped taking my calls when it was time to collect. Mark Zaverl is a scam artist.

U.S Best Repairs doesn't pay
AUTHOR: Lewis - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Monday, November 12, 2012
POSTED: Monday, November 12, 2012Another state coordinator said he would give extra for a trash out we were working on then when everything was turned in he said we were late and not getting anything. After fighting with him we were able to get about a third of the entire amount. That one made different promises then didn't come through on any of it. He would call screaming and on several occasions, and he was way off on his claims. Gave us 27 work orders, told me to just try' and don't worry about what we can't get to. Drive by some of them and just say you are hearing sounds coming from inside. These work orders were from one side of the state to the other.
One of them called and was really shitty and kept saying "why didn't you winterize the property". My comment to him was why don't you look at the pictures. If you looked at the pictures, you would know why we didn't. There was nothing there to winterize, just a shell of a house. We couldn't even hardly tell where the kitchen or one of the bathrooms were located in the house. The other bathroom was destroyed. There was no plumbing or wiring left in the basement. What an idiot, half the people that work there have no clue how to do what we do. Most of them don't know how to do anything in construction type work. They just read and re write into the orders they submit to us sub contractors.
Those of us who need to earn more money, are vulnerable, they use that to their advantage. The thing is they don't care who they harm, or how much money you put into they property. If you just spent the last few dollars to get the work done it doesn't matter to them. Then it just depends who looks at what you submitted that gets your pay amount. Most of them don't know anything about construction, just paper pushers.
I've been talking to a legal secretary, to see what the cost to sue is going to be, and how much their contract will hold up when they didn't even follow it. They never gave us a chance ( their "48 hrs" to rebut) to prove the work was done or re submit pictures The amount to sue from small claims isn't enough to cover even a fifth of what they owe. We are looking for other companies or individuals that would possibly like to go in together and go after U.S. Best.

POSTED: Monday, November 12, 2012I did four work orders for them. All intials.
1st Luckily the front door was nailed shut by city and back door was boarded and nailed. Got paid to put hinges on doors. There was a ton of trash yes trash not personal property but had bid it for personal property.
2nd Lock change front door $40 bucks and two hours of phone time.
3rd same as above
4th I knew better this time. I got BofA and the Realtor to both deem it trash and got a nice cleanout out of it. It took amonth to get paid though because they we worried BofA wouldnt pay my ass it was approved I had the confirmation number.
After these I didnt get a call for months. Gee wonder why? Finally got a call asking if I could take some pictures for some bids. I told him I can asked if I could bid as well. He said hed call back. Work orders cancelled.
Like the guy above I believe they are using your bids to get paid by bank and calling around to get the work done cheaper. The same thing with initials. Companies like this would rather pay in liquor bottles than actual cash. Im a Realtor as well and we get BofA as corporate listings and all of the agents have complained about US Best P and P crews.

POSTED: Friday, May 04, 2012Now real world fool, I could give you some examples to show that mine is bigger than yours..isn't that what you said or was it that (YOU THINK) you've been doing this longer than me..same thing, but you would only go from cubical to cubical at the "Palace" to get the answers.
.so let me say this to all the Newbees being told all the sweet nothings, "BEWARE" and be on your toes, tell your contractor friends to be ready for that recruiting phone call, with all the sweet nothings to get you to sign up, you see how far they will go on here with the fairy tales, wait till you hear them for yourself and I hope you don't lose too much money in the process.
I've seen companies like this come and go over the years, they have just refined it a bit.

SUBMITTED: Thursday, May 03, 2012
POSTED: Thursday, May 03, 2012Let's say a sub-contractor, or who they call a vendor, goes out and bid a job for $100 and a month later it comes back approved, instead of sending that contractor who made the bid of $100, they'll send another contractor with the work order for $50, guess who gets to keep the other $50 plus the override.
Now, do I have proof that this is done, Nope, but common sense tells me this,
(!) go back and check on what I have bid on
(2) look at their personnel turnover, if those contractors were so valuable then why would they leave?
answer- they figured it out

POSTED: Saturday, April 14, 2012I would reccomend them to anyone. Obviously the guy who filed the complaint did not do what he was supposed to do or he would have gotten paid. They even pay mileage when I go beyond my area to help them out with a job.
I hope to have a long relationship with them.

POSTED: Wednesday, May 25, 2011PRO:
-very efficient and organize about work order (easy for me to set my scedule)
-set dead line and keep up with them
-have info man to talk to and very helpful (Julio Salinas) I believe Julio also assign work order.
-Pay is on time/on schedule.
CON:
-some time have small W.O. not worth the trip
-almost dead slow in cold season (the season i did work with US best)
-to much side work requirement that waist my time on job sight Like;
*calling bank for verification and picture sending (necessary, but it waisted so much time for a
guy trying to get things done NOT by the hour).
*require detail proven pic of all and everything serviced. (necessary, but its still a pain for us
human only have 2 hand to do work)
Besides the 3rd item of the CON, i enjoy working for USbest during the short amount of time. if USbest found a short cut around this problem, i would kill to work for them.
Thanks for reading.

RE: US Best Repairs
AUTHOR: Mango - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Monday, July 13, 2009
POSTED: Monday, July 13, 2009I was a contractor for US Best Repairs ( and 9 other Preservation Companies) and I can tell anyone who cares to listen that US Best Repairs is not known to not pay their contractors, in fact in the whole time I've been in this business I'm yet to work for anyone who is as fast paying their contractors as they are. The problem with this guy is that he's a rookie and has no idea how the business works, you're an indepented contractor ( Read your contract) you are responsible for your own expences, if you were sent to a property and it was occupied, they will pay you ( providing that you took photos) a trip charge. I never had any problems ( and I don't know of any other contractor who did) being paid. The fact that you asked them for gas money only proves you're a shmuck and don't have any business sense.
I don't work for US Best anymore and I'm sure they don't need me to come to their defense, but everything this guy claims sounds like someone who's broke and doesn't have a clue about this business and that's fine, what isn't fine is this clownd trying trash an honest company due to his own ignorance.

POSTED: Wednesday, April 22, 2009However, neither Mark nor myself are familiar with this person, and accounting has no record of a John G. However, as John has noted, he has our contact information. I would be happy to discuss the issue and resolve any problems he may have. He may reach me on my direct line at 714-599-7394.
As far as estimates are concerned, it is not within our power to approve every estimate. Multiple estimates are always used, and it is possible that we simply had a lower price, or the work was not approved by our clients. I am sorry he feels this way, but that is something that is not under our control.
