I recieved a letter from the US Dept. Of Education stated I was defaulted on my student loan. At the the time of opening loan 2008, I resided for 6 yrs at 12108 Santa Rosa, Det., MI 48204 (room and board) pd. Salllie Mae of on time, and received payoff letter. Loan was reopend in 2008, student filed for loan under request. Landlord died Feb. 3,2008 asked to terminate loan agreement with a promise to relocate current residence, along with promissory note to transfer loan agreement to another school. Moved to another address 8817 Second Ave. where loan was disabled agreement by the Student Loan Authority in NH. I continued to make payments, but also requested forebrance agreement or deferment. I forced to move to a Emergency sheltered request payment statments to be mailed to current address 40 Hauge st. REquest denied. I would like to know if residing at shelter or Women's shelter can you continue your education? I was told to wait for payoff amount and pay as normal.
