US Direct Express Something needs to be done , Internet
i get my benefits through the direct express card and this month me and my husband were victims of a scam i believe. both my husband and my social security benefits are put on that card. about 2 am on the 3rd we went grocery shopping and when i got back we had $777 on the card availible. this was for our rent and utilities. i noticed a charge that i didn't recongnize from avis rent a car. now i don't drive and neither does my husband so this is was a weird charge. i just figured i would call in the morning to dispute it.
the next day we wake up and start to pay our bills. we call aaron's rto to pay for our rental stuff and the card kept being denied. so i got on the website to look at the account and was shocked to find out that there was only $3 on the card and the card was shut off due to fraud. so i call the company in question and they told me that some person or people in south africa had made all those charges. i told them that this is bogus because i have never been to south africa and i don't know anyone in south africa. they said that they can't do anything until five days have passed to see if any of the charges drop off. i said fine i will wait and see. they are sending me a new card.
now it's a new day. that old card has been turned off and they issued a new card right? i got curious and log in to see the account. to my amazement this s**t is still going on. they haven't stopped a d**n thing. more charges are rolling through. my account is now $-125. what the hell? immediatly i call the cops because this is robbery. i am sitting here writing this as i wait on hold to talk to social security themselves. this is going to be taken care of. this is supposed to be controlled by our FEDERAL GOVERNMENT...why can't they get a hold of this situation?
if i become homeless because my rent is due because of this, I WILL SUE SOMEONE!!!
