I got a call from a man claiming to be with US Gold Line on Tuesday June 3,2008 that said he could help my husband rebuild his credit and that he had talked to my husband on Monday. (Lie 1) The man on the phone processed to go through his spiel about a $2500 line of credit on a credit card that could be used at any store. (lie 2 already in less than 2 minutes) He then proceeded to read off the information my husband "had given" to him. This guy knew not only my husband's social security number but also our bank routing number and checking account number. He then proceeded on to tell me that there was going to be a $250 debit from our checking account on Thursady June 5, 2008. I called my husband at work and he told me that he never spoke to these people and to go to the bank and file for a stop payment on the $250. I went and got that filed and successful kept them from scamming us out of our miney. My husband then called the company back and they informed him that it was not him they talked to and got the information on the checking account from but me and I was the one to authorize the $250 debit from our account. (Lie 3 and building) I was standing beside him as this woman on the phone basically made me sound like a liar and my husband then handed me the phone and I proceeded to inform them that I would like them to take our names off thier lists and if they refuse to do so, I was informing the Better Business Bureau and anyone I could of their shady business practices. They promptly became a litle easier to work with and told me that since the $250 payment never came out that they would forget the whole situation ever happened. Even though we put a stop payment on the $250 we still changed our banking information just in case they try to do what they have done to many many other people. Do not trust these people. They are liars.
