A guy with an Indian accent called me and told me I was chosen from a once a year selection of people to recieve a grant for $7,ooo. Of course I did not believe him so I kept asking him for verification of his company. He just kept repeating that he worked for the U.S. Grant Dept in Washington, DC. He insisted that I immediately give him a checking or savings account number so that they could proceed with the offer. I asked him if I could recieve it in a check form since it was from the government. He said no only electronically. I said I think I have a prepay card to make a deposit on, and he said it was imparitive to use my bank. I kept telling him that I was not going to give my back account information to anyone that I do not know or have ever heard of. I asked him for the company or government sector website address and he told me usgrant.gov. Of course when I tried to look up this website it did not exist. I told him that and basically after a while of me explaining to him that there was absoutely no way I was going to give him my bank account numbers until he had real proof then I wasn't going to give him my information. In the end he figured out that obviously I was not stupid enough to fall for this lie he hung up on me.
