You know how we all get those e-mails saying that we can get a 150 dollar gift card to Apple Bees or something similiar. Beware! You have to complete these different offers in order to qualify for your "gift".

I applied for USA Credit thinking I would get a regular credit card such as a VISA or Mastercard issued by USA Credit. Instead I was issued a useless card that I could only use on USA Shopping's website.

USA Credit asked for my account information. I figured that it was to verify my worthiness of their credit. After giving my account information, I was informed that my bank account would be debited for 149.95.

When I saw the debit on my online banking account activity statement, I called the number listed beside my transaction amount. After 30 minutes of cajoling me to keep my account open, I was told I would receive a $150 voucher to pay my credit card bill in addition to a $75 check to deposit in my account.

The majority of the USA Shopping.com prices were in red with two asterisks in front of them meaning they needed to be paid for upfront with either an e-check or another credit card. Among the few items I saw that I could by with my USA Credit account were a $40 dollar pair of jumper cables. would I pay $40 for a pair of jumper cables plus shipping, when I can go to a hardware store and get them for around $10?

A couple of days later, I googled this credit card company and found numerous complains about USA Credit/USA Shopping Club.

I saw similiar complaints about this bogus credit card. Do not ever apply for this credit card or you will be fighting for you $150 dollars.

Closing the account is a hassle because the "Customer Service Specialist" will keep trying to talk you into keeping your account open. They want you to be out the $150 and stuck with a card you cannot truly use. After two 30 minute phone calls and one 10 minute phone call I finally was able to close my account.

My advise is do not even apply for this card because you too will be charged $150 and you will have a hard time closing your account.

USA Credit.com

AUTHOR: Janet - (U.S.A.)

I disputed the transaction with my bank and they were very good about it. They credited the money back to my savings account and closed the account and opened another one to prevent USA Credit from charging me again. I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commision and they want to do an affidative about my incident with USA Credit.

I also filed a complaint in the state that the company was incorporated (Pennsylvania) The result was not exactly in my favor. According the them the funds I paid them came back non sufficient and I still owe them $10 for opening the credit card(origination fee).

The whole point of my complaint was that they were selling me a useless credit card. I could hardly buy anything on their website and the vast majority of items sold on the site required an alternate method of payment i.e check, moneyorder, cashier check, or other credit card.

The items you could buy with the "credit card" were overpriced. For instance they charged $45 for a pair of jumper cables when you could go to ACE or Sears and get them for $15.

I am hoping I can get in touch with the FTC. They seem to take an interest in my incident.

I did dispute the unauthorized charge with my bank and they were good about it.

AUTHOR: Janet - (U.S.A.)

They only asked my account number and if I knew what company it was. I told them that I did and explained what happened. The bank did reverse the charge. Now I have to go down to the bank tomorrow and close out my savings account and open a new one (better safe that sorry). I am concerned that USA Credit did not really close my account as they said, so I will go to court as soon as I get another day off and sue them to rescind the contract due to failure of consideration as advised on this website. I do not want them to put a negative item on my credit report. In case they do, I will forward copies of my judgment to the three credit bureaus. I am also sending a certified letter to close my "credit card account" as proof to the court that I want to close this account. I have a feeling that this is just the beginning.

#3 Consumer Suggestion

Pay attention Most bank chargeback forms have a box to check for a product which was not provided or misrepresented.

AUTHOR: Kevin - (U.S.A.)

Why have you not disputed this with the bank yet? Since this product was mispresented to you, then go to the bank and dispute this through the bank and ask them to charge it back to them. Most bank chargeback forms have a box to check for a product which was not provided or misrepresented.

Do that.. You have 60 days from the time the first statement with the transactions was sent.

Get on that as soon as possible. Let the bank know about this scam.. Most of the time, the bank will charge it back regardless of what that company says...

So get to it....
