I got a call about a month agio from a place called the USA MAgazine Exchange. They said my info popped up on one of their computers because I was a VISA card holder.

They told me that I was being entered into a sweepstakes to win $$$. Additionally, I was going to recieve free magazine subscriptions if I subscribed to just one magazine. I told them, yes, I would subscribe to one magazine, US Magazine.

One week later, I received a letter in the mail saying they are charging seven hundred and some dollars to my Visa over twelve monthly installments because I subscribed to a whole list of magazines which was not the agreement.

I sent their letter back to them along with a statement saying I wanted to cancel, because that was not what I agreed to.

Yesterday, I recieved a letter back from them stating that they will not cancel me becausemy order was established as a result of a verbal agreement. This was not our verbal agreement we made. I

cannot afford to pay $700 for a magazine subscription. I would not have even given the company any of my credit card information if that was what they were offering me.

ow this company is charging this money to my credit card, and I don't know what to do.

Current customer I don't feel I'm being ripped off.

I'm currently a customer of USA Magazine Exchange. I was concerned when I saw all of these posting concerning the rip offs. I estimated the average cost per year for the magazines that I subscribed. The total payment is $58.24 per month for one year, which is $698.88. Your subscriptions are for a total of four years, so your payments would be $174.72 a year. I have 8 magazines that I'm subscribing to, so that comes out to $21.84 a year per magazine. I don't feel I'm being ripped off. I know that I would pay about the same if I subscribed to these magazines on my own.
