USAA Savings Bank is denying me full access to their web site and account services due to the fact I filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy.  They held two credit cards that were affected by my bankruptcy.

Due to the bankruptcy, I feel that USAA is discriminating against me and not allowing me full access to their banking services.  I have been a member for over 20 years and this is how you treat someone when things get rough?  So much for standing by your members in times of great need.

I was kicked in the chest by a horse, puncturing both lungs causing me to have chest tubes.  Also incurred a broken rib in the process.  A year later I am blessed to be alive and healed.  Being self employed and single, my finances were greatly disturbed by this life threatening injury.

Shame on USAA for this bias when bankruptcy is a constitutional privilege and nothing I ever would have chosen to go through in my life time.

No RipOff...

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

By filing Bankruptcy you told USAA that you are not going to pay your credit card bills so they basically are left "holding the bag" with those accounts.  There is no law that forces them to do business with you at all. So "restricting you" is not a RipOff.

You didn't go into the specifics of the restrictions.  But it may be specifically because of the Bankruptcy that they MUST do that.  As items in Bankruptcy are handled differently.  This is all something your lawyer should have gone over with you.

You will also find a lot of companies who automatically will refuse to do business with you because you have a Bankruptcy on your record.  Next time you fill out a Credit Application, and now even Insurance and Job Applications you may be surprised to see questions about filing Bankruptcy.  Not, have you filed in the last few years, but EVER.  So I imagine as you find this out we will see a RipOff reports on them as well.

The reason for your Bankruptcy does not matter, as it is an option of LAST RESORT.  People filing Bankruptcy are filing because of major life events causing them problems.  In reality you reason is no different or special than other people filing bankruptcy.
