A USAA policy holder failed to yield the right of way and hit my car. She apologized for running into me and provided her USAA policy information.

I have called USAA several times in order to make arrangements to get my car repaired. USAA rep advised me, until their customer calls them to make a recording, they can not process the claim, and that could take several weeks. They further advised I could have my insurance company pay for the damage and rental car, which is true, however; I would have to wait an undetermined amount of time to get my deductable reinmursed from USAA.

This is why attorneys get involved in these cases. USAA would rather spend thousands in legal fees rather than settle the claim as will eventually.

Always an excuse

AUTHOR: Disgusted - ()

The extenions the claims people provide never get answered by that person and they DO NOT return calls, so you have to press 0 to get another claims person so you can repeat all your information again, just to hear the same nonsense.

If I was only speaking with one (1) person, perhaps something would get accomplished, but since they WILL NOT return my call, I'm stuck on a merry-go-round.

Thanks for the unpleasent service. I know where NOT to by insurance.

Who is dragging their feet?

AUTHOR: Robert - ()

- No, it does not take several weeks for the other party to call USAA..it takes about 30 seconds for the other party to dial the phone.   Any insurance company is going to want to get both sides of the story before they pay a claim..yes even yours.  But if the other party is unwilling to talk to them, how does USAA know that your claim is even valid?  I'm not saying it isn't, just that you need to look at it from the other side.  After all what would you do if your insurance company paid a claim that has you at fault without even talking to you?

If you want to try and speed up the other party..perhaps give her a call and let her know that she needs to contact USAA.  You could also let her know that if she doesn't, that you may be forced to take additional legal steps such as filing a suit against her.  That threat may be enough to get her moving.  Of course if it doesn't, then go ahead and formally file a suit against her in small claims.
