We started this process in October 2011 and were promised that we would have a closing by the first of the year. After the last payment, Mr. Mills stop updating us and after leaving messages he also stopped returning our calls. The last conversation was February 14 and Mr. Mills said he would call our mortgage company to see how the loan modification was being negotiated.
We are not in foreclosure but God hope we can keep from losing our home. I don't know where to go from here or do not know what to do. We only hope that some of the complaints were only people who Mr. Mills could not help. I am calling our mortgage company today!

You might want to contact your Attorney General and file a complaint regarding your mortgage modification. Charging up front fees to work with a mortgage company sounds a bit fishy to me. You might also want to contact all of your Local News stations in your city and send each Investigative Reporter a copy of your Ripoff Report via email, and send each of them a hard copy through the mail.
Many homeowners have been scammed by companies and attorneys. Promising to "work" with your mortgage company to get a lower rate does not mean that you will get a lower rate, correct? I know someone who recently paid a $350 fee to a mortgage company, that was refundable, if a lower rate could not be secured. This person was able to get a lower rate. The mortgage company put it in writing that the $350 fee would be refunded if a lower rate could not be secured, prior to any work being performed.
QUESTION: Did USMS Corp. put in in writing that they would refund your $2,250.00 if a lower rate could not be secured?
If not, then it appears that you will lose all of that money if you don't get a lower rate, wouldn't you agree?
Keep us updated.

Peter Mills may have had others in different circumstances and loan problems that were not happy, but I believe it is a case by case situation. I and my husband are going to continue working with USMS Corporation and with Peter Mills and let the time of the loan process play out. I am hopeful as long as Peter Mills keeps us updated and continues in his best to work with the mortgage company, we will be able to update the report with a favorable report for USMS Corp. I will update honestly as the process continues.
