We moved from Oregon to Colorado in June of 2002 and used a 6X12 trailer, this had to be picked up 70 miles from our moving destination (Lincoln City) picked up in Salem, then had to drive back and load and moved to Denver Colorado. Cost $168.00. Now we are going to return to Oregon from Denver, Cost $321.00. How can this be? We went out of our way to do business with Uhaul and now that we would expect them to be honest with pricing they can't and I'm told that the customer Rep. hasn't had a complaint in 9 years.

To begin with I'am a disabled Veteran and would expect a discount for that, not to be gouged with a ridiculous price of $321.00 dollars for a trailer. A truck only cost $710.00 to do the same move how can a trailer be that high. This company is a monoply on the moving business when it comes to trailers and that alone makes this price skeptical.

Is there anyone that has control of these deceitful dishonest and non-integrity enterprice, to be told that uhaul has not been complained about in 9 years takes the cake. something must be done to control this disgrace to U.S. Vets.

Understanding Uhauls Rates

AUTHOR: Ryan - (U.S.A.)

Well, U-Haul's rates change every week. Main reasons for rate changes are distance of travel and mainly equipment availability from destination to destination. Now if in the city you're leaving UHaul has an abundant supply of equipment and the city you're moving too has very little equipment the price will be lower, just the oppisite if it's the opposite scenario. Sometimes we have blackhole states where everyone is leaving and nobody is moving in and prices can differ by more that 500% It is all to keep our equipment from sitting somewhere for months at a time and never going out on rental.

BALDERDASH!

AUTHOR: Kenn - ()

Richard, your playing on your disabled vet status is really, really poor. Why does anyone owe you a discount because you are disabled, vet or not. You imply that the agency is selectively targeting vets for overpricing. Can you prove that?

I was career military, served in two wars, and have a 40% service-connected disability rating but I don't ask anyone for anything in regards to that. You know the risks when you sign the papers so I don't think I'm anything special just because I got chewed up a little bit.

You might have a legitimate beef with UHaul on pricing but your veterans status is no part of that beef.
