I signed up for a 14 day trial of TruGenix Hoodia diet pills. I paid for shipping and decided not to keep the autoship so I called the 800 number to cancel on 1/30/06. The rep I spoke to said it was cancell and when I asked if I would be charged for anything else I was told that no I wouldn't.

On 2/8/06 I had a charge on my account for $28.97 from E CURVES. Called them up about it and spoke to Jonda who said she was a manager. She told me that according to the terms and conditions that I was also enrolled in the ecurves service and that I did not cancel that within the trial period. When I told her that the last person I spoke with said that I would not be charged for anything else she said the she didn't know what was said during that call and the representative was probably confused. However, she would not give me a refund so I told her I would dispute it with my credit card company.

Still not satisfied I called back and spoke with Trisha who also said she was a manager and that I could not speak with her boss. I explained the situation to her and she informed me that they have no way of knowing that you are enrolled in the ecurves program unless you tell them you are.

When I told her about how the 1st rep I spoke with said I would not be charged for anything else she said that's because they don't see that on their screen, they have to look through other screens to get that information. She also said that they don't even handle the ecurves program wich is a lie because they were able to give me a username and password to go into the website and cancel the program.

I was very insistent that I should get a refund because of what the 1st rep told me but she said they don't even have the ability to give credits. When pushed though she did admit that when they make a mistake they do give a refund but that they didn't make a mistake and I should've told them I was enrolled in ecurves even though I didn't know it.

Both of the "managers" I spoke with were very rude, the second one hung up on me. I was not rude to them, did not swear or anything. These guys are very shady, they should have told me I was enrolled in the ecurves plan when I asked if I would be charged for anything else. When they told me that I would not be charged they were lying, the 2nd manager said they weren't lying though, they just didn't know. How convient, if you didn't know then I should get a refund because of your ignorance.

Anyway, I'll be disputing this with my credit card company and we'll see how it goes. Hope somebody sues the crap out of these people, they are nasty.

More unauthorized charges from Ultarburn PM

AUTHOR: Daniel - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 14, 2006

I called my credit card company today and it turnes out Ultralife has charged my card again. This time it is because I signed up for a different free trial called Ultraburn PM. Same deal though they automatically enrolled me in the E Curves website service and did not tell me about it. The rep I spoke with today said that E Curves sent me an email when I signed up for both of the trials and that email included my username and password. I told her I did not receive an email because I don't block any junk mail and do not have a bulk mail folder, I read everything that comes through. She then said that they don't have to send an email anyway because it's in the terms and conditions. Also was told that if I dispute the charges on my card that they will transfer my account to collections. This really bites, not only do I have to cancel my card to keep them from charging more on it but it looks like I'll have to change my phone number to keep their collections department from bothering me. On top if that if they actually do report it to the credit agencies I'll have to dispute it with them as well. This really sucks, if anyone has any advice on how to handle this I would really appreciate it. I can't believe an American company is legally allowed to get away with these scams. Also I have their address now, it is:

857 West South Jordan Parkway
PO Box 95668
South Jordan, Utah 84092

And 2 phone #'s to the same customer service department:

1-800-254-6640
1-800-757-1279
