Unique Insurance Insure One Doesn't Pay For Claims Against Their Insured Chicago, Illinois

On October 4th 2011 my wife and I were moving our truck around the block near our home in Springfield, IL. We saw the other driver talking on her cell phone and not stopping as she pulled out of her driveway, so we stopped to avoid a worse accident. The driver still pulled out and turned into the wrong lane and hit us.

It was a neighbor, so we exchanged information, BIG MISTAKE, and my wife and I went to the doctor. Before going to the doctor I called the other driver's insurance, Unique Insurance's, claim number. It took 3 weeks and me calling and leaving 30 plus messages for the adjustor, Abby Rivera, her supervisor, Patricia Randall, and finally the VP, Erica Quan, before even getting a response. We waited an additional week to find out they were only going to pay 50% of our repair estimate whiche we got from their shop, Bypass Auto Repair.

when we heard this I walked over to my neighbor who hit us apartment and let her know. She called the police to get a report as she did not want sued for damages. The police came and gave her a ticket in the accident, and issued a report. Keep in mind that my neighbor would not have gotten a ticket if they just would pay their claim. The repair estimate for our truck was only $1500 and they offered me $750!!!

I have been to the doctor 3 times for neck strain/ sprain, and my wife went once. We have heard nothing about any of this yet.

The worse part is we were in the process of moving to Florida to start a new job, and that opportunity has closed on me due to the fact Unique Insurance won't act in a professional manner.

I ran my own business and an Insurance repair contractor as well as ran work for another insurance repair contractor as an estimator and project manager. I have never seen anything like this before, nor have any of my adjustor friends I have spoke to.

I am fortunate though. I live in the State Capitol and have the Illinois Department of Insurance, and the Attorney General right here in my town. When I get up in the morning I am contacting both of them, as well as going down to the court house to file suit against the neighbor who hit me to recover my full damages. Though this accident was her faultm she is now going to unnecessarily be prosecuted in traffic and civil court, so that we can get paid what we are rightfully owed.

I am also going to contact the agent Insure One who issued the policy and let them know what is going on. That just on this site alone there are 16 other similar incidents. I have saw AAA has already sued them and won.
