United Express LLC United Express, Brenton Wombles, Brent Wombles, Fake business, payroll scam, didn't pay employees, liar and scam artist Louisville, Kentucky

Please do not work for Brenton Wombles or United Express! And to all local businesses, do not employ this company for any services. They are performing scams on people that work for them and have a fake business with a fake address! According to their business cards they are located at 10200 Forest Green Blvd in Louisville KY. They even have this posted on their Facebook page with pictures of the office building. When I looked up the address on Google it came up as a completely different company. The pictures on United Express Facebook page matched the pictures of the building at that address but when I called the telephone number to that business they informed me that they have never even heard of United Express LLC. Their facebook page states that they are located in this building in suite 110.... There is no suite 110 in this office building and the building is ONE office that owns the entire building. The telephone number for United Express isn't even a working telephone number.

My boyfriend and I began working for this company a few weeks back. We were given applications and tax forms to complete and was told that we would be paid every other Friday depending on the account that we were working for through this company. My boyfriend, our crew and I were contracted out through United Express to perform cleaning services for a construction company called Kelley Construction in Louisville, KY and for the Yum! Center in Louisville, KY. The agreement that we had was that we would be paid $8.25 per hour for cleaning at the construction company and would be paid $9.00 per hour for cleaning services at the Yum! Center.

We were supposed to be paid for our services on Friday, October 26, 2012. We contacted Brent Wombles (our "boss") from United Express on that Friday and we were told that our paychecks would be ready to pick up at 2:30 that afternoon. When we contacted them again at 2:30 they told us that they were at the bank picking up our checks and that we could meet them in Louisville, KY to pick up our paychecks. We drove to Louisville and called Brent back when we arrived and he didn't answer the phone for us. We tried calling numerous times between 2:30p.m. and 4:30p.m. that day and our phone calls were ignored and weren't returned. We finally got a reply from United Express stating that their payroll was messed up and that our checks didn't come in that day. They knew this information earlier that morning and never told us about it until well after 5:00p.m. on that Friday. It was a lie anyway and they never had a payroll company that they were going through anyway. They had just planned on not paying us for our work.

When we attempted to find out when we would receive our paychecks, Brent and United Express proceeded to tell us that our paychecks would not be there until Monday, October 29, 2012 and told us that we were fired for no reason. They just realized that we weren't going to put up with not being paid and realized that we would sue them for non-payment. On Monday, October 29, 2012 we called Brent at 9:00a.m. and when he answered the phone he yelled at my boyfriend stating that it was too early in the morning and that he was working on getting our paychecks ready and hung up on us. We attempted calling him again 2 hours later and they wouldn't answer our phone calls. We finally got in contact with them again and they stated that we would receive our paychecks on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 (which is tomorrow) although we aren't holding our breath on that. He also told us that we would not be paid the dollar amount per hour that he had originally agreed to for our services and he is also refusing to pay us for the total amount of hours that we have worked. He is pretty much cutting our hours in half!

Our crew has a total of 9 people that have worked for this company in the last month and none of us have yet to receive pay from this company and Brenton Wombles and United Express will not answer phone calls, return phone calls and have even went as far as blocking some of our phone numbers through their cell phone company. At this time, this does not seem to be a "payroll company issue". It seems to be that they either do not have the money to pay our crew or just intend to not pay us. Collectively between my boyfriend and I, this company owes he and I combined somewhere around $1000.00 before taxes for services that we have provided for them. If pay is not received from this company to the 9 people on our crew then we will have no other choice than to take this company to court to receive our payment. 

United Express tells the companies that they do services for that they do background checks and drug testing on all employees and the only background checks that they performed were on my boyfriend and I. They never did background checks on any of the others in our crew and never
performed drug testing on any of us.

After doing extensive research on Brenton Wombles I have found out that he has been in jail for payroll fraud and cold checks. There are numerous reports on websites, the Better Business Bureau and through ripoffreport.com about Brenton Wombles, United Express LLC and Oldham Communications which is another business that he has performed his scams through. It is a very uneasy feeling for my crew and I that this guy has all of our personal information including full names, addresses, phone numbers, tax information and social security numbers. I plan on writing to local newspapers and television stations in hopes that no one else will be affected by Brenton Wombles and his scams.
