United Pacel Service (UPS) AND Crawford & Company (UPS Insurance Company) UPS and Crawford & Company ALWAYS Damage Claims stating IMPROPER PACKING Atlanta , GA NATIONWIDE
I have been shipping as a business for years with a business UPS account.
UPS and Crawford & Company ALWAYS deny damage claims stating IMPROPER PACKING. UPS and Crawford & Company even deny claim when they totally mishandle and destroy the package, packing, and the items shipped. We all know that anyone can mishandle HANDLE any package and thus damage properly packed and over-packed items.
UPS has even been known to deny claims for damage with items that have not even been inspected by UPS a single time. I think it is very lame that UPS will claim improper packing without package inspection. UPS and Crawford & Company is comitting FRAUD and Insurance FRUAD by avoiding payment for claims. UPS will even charge additional money for added INSURED Value and I have never been able to get UPS or Crawford & Company to pay a single damage claim on an package with an insured value of OVER $100. I have not had any problem throughout the years in getting UPS and Crawford & Company to pay claim on shipments with a insured value of less than $100.
I would really like to see the percentages of claim paid out and those denied. What would be more interesting would be to see the total percentages of claim paid out with items insured over $100.
If you pay for additional coverage OVER $100 in value UPS and Crawford & Company will totally deny the ENTIRE claim. UPS is known to always deny all claims ALWAYS stating improper packing even when items are over packed and packed beyond their requirements.
I just had a damage claim denied that was over packed in 4 boxes with extream packing. Something struck the box very hard piercing the layers of cardboard and bent a thick steel panel on the item with all 4 boxes. The item was under insured for $300 and the claim was still denied for improper packing. Replacement value for the item as $1250. I have had 2 packages back to back get destroyed with insured values listed at only $300. I under-insured both packages and can't get UPS and Crawford & Company to even pay claims for ANY value on these 2 packages for less than $100. I have even been willing to take a loss to accept a payout for $100 just to get something paid. Both packages were totally mishandled and 1 of the 2 packages had a punctures to the box. The punctures were so bad that they went thrught ALL 4 BOXES and damaged the item. FOUR BOXES !!!!! How can they call an item being overpacked in 4 boxes improper packing? Easy.... FRUAD!!!!! Who packs an item in 4 boxes so UPS will not deny a claim? I did and they still deny paying anything.
UPS needs to step up and do the right thing on claim that clearly show THEY are at fault for damages.
With the position UPS takes they seem to think they are never at fault for any damages regardless of how severe UPS handling is and how severe damages might be that were caused by UPS. UPS seems to take the position that if the item gets damaged it must have been improperly packed or it would not have gotten damaged.
I really can't believe UPS and Crawford & Company think they have the right to DENY CLAIMS stating improver packing when they clearly and improperly totally destroy some packages. Many time the packages will look like they drove the UPS truck over the entire package. It is even clear that UPS would not have accepted destroyed packages for shipment,m thus it is clear who damaged the packages. How can UPS and Crawford & Company deny claims when they clearly mishandle your items and even put puncture holes in your packing due to improper handling? Clearly UPS and Crawford & Company defraud customers on a regular basis by mishandling claims.
