Priorty mail ripoff/ scam
The United StatesPost Office is offering a Service of Priorty mail and for an additional fee will also provide theservice of delivery confirmation.

The Issue I have is that the post office willtake  your money  and suposedly you can track your mailing to delivery. When the packagein theirtsystem just gets processed andnot delivered  this becomes an issue. My Package says to be delivered at a specific date but never is delivered. The Post office then gets upset when you ask about the package. I was told to mail again.. this was not an option as thewir system is showing still in processing and the contants are in the package that was mailed...

Since I a paid a fee for a service that they did not perfoertm I requested a fund - they refused and said that was not an option. So how is it tha tany other company in the United strates would be legally responsible for a refund to the cionsumer i fthey faied t operfornm the contracted  service that they were paid for?

So the Post office only response was to us UPS  this from (2) locations and the customer service line #  found on their online site.

How is the post office in business to accept monies for a specified service, not provide the service and then be able t okeep the money for doing nothing but creating greif for the inocent consumer.
The Federal trade commission and or Consumer protection would shut  down any other company doing this type of scam. Why is the post office allowed to offer something like this and not be held to stand behind their claims.

The fact that  not regular mail but a specialty item with a means of tracking for an additional fee  that their own system shows that they failed to conclude.  Since I was  told to use  UPS I did  for  myspecialty packages and will NOT use the Post office .
as for my letters Iwill try to convert as much of my mailings now to E-amail  -- at least I won't be ripped off by the United States Post Office..........

DON'T  get ripped off by the POst Office on their Priorty  Mail Packages

I quote from a Newspaper Editorial, the disagreement, or problem between Newspaper and Post Office - http://www.glencoenews.com/Main.asp?SectionID=8&SubSectionID=8&ArticleID=23184

"Complaints about that inconsistent delivery have fallen on deaf ears. These less-than-first-class mailings are delivered at the whim of the post office, not for the good of the customer. Some sit for weeks at post offices because they are not a priority. Well,
they are a priority for us, the customer!

This monopoly of the mail system has allowed USPS to grow fat and happy as it flaunted its "take-it-or-leave-it" approach to customer service. It has held sway so long with its "only-game-in-town" that it never felt the need to adjust to meet its customers needs or demands. It did not have to."

Go to the Internet about Priority Mail and get:

Priority Mail With delivery in about 2 days and affordable prices, Priority Mail service is a great choice for shipping packages and envelopes. It includes Free Package Pickup* at your door. Plus, when you ship online, youll get special savings and free Delivery Confirmation.

Features Delivery within 2 days in most cases (2 to 3 days at one flat rate) Free Package Pickup*Includes Delivery Confirmation when you ship online Saturday delivery** and residential delivery at no extra cost The only 2-day service that delivers to mailboxes, mail slots, and PO Boxes Flat Rate pricing available.

At the Post Office, explained: " Its setup to be only 2-3 days" with some exceptions - just not always an exception.

Its possible to receive service as:
1.)  "If you don't understand English very well maybe next time you want to use a delivery service [and?] you will take somebody with you who does" - It was understandable enough to read and understand to comment about. There is two different ways of communication - in person or the Computer, they communicated - difficulty depends on what is written and who read it.

2.) "I don't believe your story." "I don't mean to sound rude or nasty but with all the spelling errors and the fact this looks like this is written in broken English makes me wonder if maybe you understood what you were paying for." The Post Office expect us to see how simple and fast it is, as if, that is all there is, then when things change we are to read between the lines and guess. Then blame us for not understanding there was a problem - Its fast and simple. It takes two people to disagree, and two people to agree. Its better to understand than guess or misunderstand. Is it too much work to explain to someone, people are more than one person, or would that spoil the surprise of being, fast and simple.

3.)  "Stop blaming the post office because you didn't communicate effectively what you wanted." When I asked, they told me, ask the Head Man, The Postmaster, next line and wait, when something went wrong - he told me the hours of operation and would help me, then continued to explain something, then said I do not know - he said, call me back in 1/2 hour after closing, I can tell you then. The phone just rang and rang and rang no one answered, then someone answered and said, he went home 1/2 hour ago.

4.) The service - about new services, its silly, they think your a prankster, or do not know, because they do not inform people about new services. For Example http://www.upsmailinnovations.com/services/domestic_mail.html  they laughed at me at the Post Office when I explained it was UPS to USPS, they thought I was a prankster.

Once upon a time several years ago, a clearly addressed letter was to be sent less than 1/2 mile to someone in the Northwest of USA, yet appeared in the Southwest of USA.

One time I asked about my misdirected mail to someone 2 streets away from me, several years ago.
http://www.upsmailinnovations.com/services/domestic_mail.html  they laughed at me at the Post Office when I explained it was UPS Mail Innovations - UPS to USPS, they thought I was a prankster.

Another example: My package was Received July 02, 2012

You were not scammed.

I have been a postal worker for 25 years and I have spent the last few years working at the retail window so I know a little bit about priority mail. Priority mail is the postal service's 2-3 day service. When they give you a date the package will be there, that date is an expected date, not a guaranteed date. The only mail the post office guarantees will get there by a set date is Express Mail. If Express mail does not get there on time, the customer is entitled to refund. I don't believe your story. I don't mean to sound rude or nasty but with all the spelling errors and the fact this looks like this is written in broken English makes me wonder if maybe you understood what you were paying for.

The part about they asked you to mail again I find really unbelievable. Why would they ask you to do that?

When I am working the window and the customer ask me when their Priority mail package will get there I give them the date the computer gives me and I let them know its an expected date not guaranteed and if they need a guaranteed date, I tell them they will need to purchase Express mail.

If you don't understand English very well maybe next time you want to use a delivery service you will take somebody with you who does. Because I can almost guarantee you will have problems no matter if you do use  someone else. Stop blaming the post office because you didn't communicate effectively what you wanted.
