The do not go above and beyond the call of duty and they are terrible at customer service. There are no extra steps taken by the USPS to make sure people who PAY them to get their packages, actually receive them.
Right now, I am typing this and the post office's official main telephone line is ringing for over 60 times. I was "picked up" and disconnected purposely several times. The time is 846am. They open at 830am.
It's no wonder why the government is totally screwed up. They don't answer their phones, they don't open until very late in the day, and they can't get packages delivered. Thank god for UPS and FED Ex. FU USPS.
It is unbelievable that a government subsidized service is allowed to operate this way
You're the worst!

US Postal Service bad news continues with plan to terminate 120,000 workers

The news is just getting worse and worse for the U.S. Postal Service and for we Americans who rely on it. This time, the USPS is considering cutting up to 120,000 jobs.
It gets worse. In the draft document, the USPS acknowledges that to cut those jobs, it has to break labor contracts. The USPS further wants to cut costs by terminating the health care plans for its pensioners and many active employees, putting them into a USPS-administered plan.
This move is one of the latest in a desperate attempt by one of the nations largest employers to effect spending and cut costs. Unfortunately, its unlikely to be the last. US Postal Service plans to close 3,653 post offices.
The Post Office could be doing things that make people over work themselves, yet people are responsible for their own actions, and that could be part of the problem, or just being some people with a do not care attitude. Every thing people do, must be directed well, we are not machines, we should not act like machines, yet it takes a person, and their responses, to make things happen.
I had my share of silly things the Post Office did,, yet not all Post Offices did this, they should send out replies for feedback, yet some replies may or may not not represent the true problem, some do represent the problem, therefore sometimes they do not realize the extent of the problem they have, or the human error that must be corrected, without doing the wrong things about it.
Unfortunately, in a very strange twist of fate, exactly 236 years to the day of Franklins founding of his post office, the operators of the Franklin branch, along with the postmasters of 3,653 other post offices throughout the nation, were informed that their branches are likely to be shut down.
On July 26, 1775, a guy by the name of Benjamin Franklin opened a post office at what is now 316 Market Street, in Philadelphia.

Alot of customers donot realize that they or the company they are doing business with use the wrong address and its very difficult for us to deliver your letters and packages, because we have many customers on our routes with the same names who live on your same road.
We cannot just deliver a package or a letter if we cannot match the correct address to the name because if we did the person who these things really belonged to would call and complain they are missing things ..Its a no win situation for us!! We arenot lazy we are doing our job and protecting our customers!
Another thing we are not funded by the Government ..your taxes don't pay for postal service and our salaries we make our money through the sales of stamps and packages and other delivery services we offer.
Please to all the people who complain about misdeliveries and the laziness of postal employees ..look at ur mail carefully and the information u are filling out on forwards and change of address cards or any other service u are using that involves ur address..Look to make sure all is correct before you complain

Like UPS does.
So are you sending mail to yourself and paying for a signature or is this someone else who is sending it to you?
What type of an address is this? House/Apt/Business/PO Box/Private Mail Box...
Is it a possibility that if it is just the ones with a signature that this happens to be a case where no one was available(or refuses) to sign for the package?
Have you actually gone into the post office and talked to the Postmaster?
